Crimson Slayer Storyline

Stained red with blood, the Crimson Slayer roams the battlefield. Once a proud warrior, she has succumbed to the darkness within and without. Now bereft of her old self and driven forth by the will of her dark Master, she fights with the desperate abandon of a berserker. The dark magic that courses through the veins allows the Crimson Slayer to sap away her foe’s will to fight with every strike – sometimes to the point of sending hapless Champions into deep and apathetic slumber – while invigorating herself to greater acts of carnage. Even her sword has been enhanced with terrible hexes that allow the blade to cause torn wounds that even the best of healers will struggle to heal.

Crimson is far better in most areas of the game then your ratings show. She is just as useful as Kael and more so in some areas, just add Toxin gear if you really want to test that statement.
Her A2 and A3 make her viable for all of the dungeons and most of the keeps. Depending on gear she can stand in Arena and FW. Won’t even get started on DT and the late game dungeons.
Lots of books, but oh well, not like you won’t get enough rare tombs if you play.
And I do not agree with your masteries either. The standard left side right side that most attackers use, same as Kael actually, is better for using more gear options and squad make ups. I see lvl 100 late gamers use her. B+ easy.

  2. Herc Smash

I am using her with stun gear to increase the chance of putting the Sand Devil to sleep. Anyone have success with this at L50 or did you have to level her up to L60?

  3. Simon Southwell

What blessing is recommended for Crimson Slayer?

  4. Jeff

She looks ideal for the Oil Boss.

For those of you here looking for a surefire way to get use out of this strange eyed Scarlet armoured lady, I recommend Going down defence as your main stat taking both counter attack masteries and reduced AoE damage, with Fearsome presence if you 60 her, then support tree for accuracy down the right side as you’ll be taking her into FW and Spider mostly. Next Set her up in stun gear, paired with scyl and another AoE stunner like Armina in stun set next to armiger and Coldheart and you have a quick and nasty spider 25 team. With Phantom touch 5/6 star soul she also practically solos FK 22, can’t confirm further atm. So if you pulled Crimson slayer congrats! She is an underrated monster of a champ!

Okay, so her A1 hits 3 times. Good for Giantslayer and FK. At random? Not so good except in FK. Also, assuming each hit target’s the same non-boss enemy, that’s a 60% chance for each to apply Sleep. Sleep kinda sucks. Also, say the first hit applies sleep. The target then immediately gets hit again and Sleep is dispelled. The only thing that setup is good for would be something revolving around masteries to grant her Turn Meter for each debuff she applies being dispelled to be able to cycle through. I mean…Apothecary’s A1 is 3 hits at random, but he’s got a MUCH better kit.

Her A2 IS pretty solid for TM control, however, and the multi is decent enough.

Her A3 is pretty crappy, though, except in Spider where it’s useful. But it’s only 50% Heal Reduction and you can get an AoE full Heal Reduction from an Uncommon (Saurus). I’m just not impressed.

  8. Kent Abbamonte

19 books for this champ??? That’s insane!

  9. Doro626

@Radspin. Her A1 is three hits at random, not AOE. Something is wrong with her AI. I have her at level 50 unbooked and she wont use her turn Meter reduction when the fire knights shield is down.

  10. RadSpin

This champion is a god, I don’t know why people aren’t talking more about her. So in Raid, there’s this epic champion you get after a week, and she has a sick revive, so everyone’s using her in arena as far as I can see. Crimson Slayer’s Flowing Sword ability just one hits that reviver if it is a crit. Her basic attack is also aoe, which means that there is a chance to put the whole enemy team to sleep with just one attack. The thing is with damage dealing aoe attacks, if my team is struck by one I can heal immediately but against the Crimson Slayer her full aoe attack also applies heal reduction debuffs which then makes the enemy team easy pickings to finish off. Got her in 5 stars max level and she is a beast.

  11. edward

she is an absolute grinder, her A1 is a bad ass Aoe,A2 drops up to 25k of damage over decrease turn meter..this is great for a powerful enemy single hit kill.her A3 .well another bad ass Aoe cleaner with massive damage..underrated player!!

  12. DynamoDucky

Turns out she does use her A2 on auto if you click on the boss (Spider / Fire Knight). Which means it will not work on automatic runs unless you’re actually babysitting her.

But otherwise, I can also confirm she uses her A2 in Faction Wars.

  13. Janice Lesley OConnor

Just played her in Faction Wars and she used her A2 on at least 2 rounds through 4 runs for me. She is L50 fully ascended. Ive got her in divine speed, accuracy and crit gear, flat atk ring, HP with Cdam% substat amulet. All gear is 5 star at L12. No books or masteries as yet. Using her atk aura for the team. She needs more atk and spd. Crit rate is 102% Cdamage 96%

  14. DynamoDucky

It doesn’t look like she uses her A2 in campaign mode. I feel like it’s a shame she doesn’t use it, YouTubers even made videos about it months ago saying they would tell the devs about it, but apparently nothing has changed.

She would be very useful in Fire Knight if one could actually rely on her to use her turn meter depletion skill.

  15. Dargentina

    Hum, I’m not sure about a C rating, I think she’s easily a B.

In Spider, she’s useful to mob down spiderlings, either with her A3 or his A1 (to finish off some sneaky pest, or have some control effect with sleep). Her A2 is very useful as usual.

With the patch that “fixed” sleep (enemy won’t wake up from same attacks of the same character), her A1 it’s very useful, since it means more chances (per hit) to sleep an enemy. If there’s a single opponent, chances are good, if there are two opponents, it still works even if the hits aren’t consecutive (i.e: 1st hit hits enemy 1 and sleeps, 2nd hits enemy 2 and sleeps or not, 3rd hits enemy 1 again, it won’t wake up).
So she’s useful in pretty much any battle.

In Boss Clan, she can be a decent poisoner if you give her a Poison set. Again, her A1 makes the difference since it means 3 chances of poisoning, without cooldown.
Granted, her A3 becomes useless, but her A2 compensates that (not sure why, A2 some times makes humongous damage)

  16. Anna

She doesn’t use her A2 on the Fire Knight or the Minotaur on Auto. The guide said she did in the campaign.

  17. Gersh / Richie

@SilentSpeaker On 8/31/2020 the A2 is now working. You may be seeing situational use during auto is all. Sometimes (such as against dungeon bosses) she will prefer the A1 as it hits 3 times.

  18. SilentSpeaker

Beware: MOST-valuable A2 skill, Flowing Sword will NOT activate in AUTO play mode.
Issue identified in AliAlPlays video posted 04/15/20, and confirmed here by moi. Looking for my next Rare, and this malfunction kinda negates use in the Rare graveyard, Faction Wars.

Ayumilove – any chance you could forward this matter to your contact(s) for resolution?

  19. Drzewo1986

First off all, why warmaster, not giantslayer?
I have max her out and tested and she hits very hard, almost as hard as kael and a lot harder than warmaiden (25% harder than warmaiden where kael hits about 33% harder than warmaiden)
Other thing is nice in her that as atk champion she has really solid amount of def so is not very sqishy.
Maybe she is not s tier but definitly on edge between A and B tier. (Becouse cooldowns of skills and cost of maxing)

  20. Ayumilove Post author

@OrcLadyConnoisseur: Thanks. I have added AliAlPlays video into the guide above!

  21. OrcLadyConnoisseur

AliAlPlays put out a great guide video on her a couple days ago you might want to add as well. Very good Revenant rare

  22. toff

I would give also a similar build option like on warmaiden (and probably more stars at offence in arena – as in defence the AI is to shit).
So either offence + speed (but some acc on items anyways)
or offence + speed + accuracy
As maxed out A2 is epic in arena on burst teams – you go hit and proc it (as then you have 100% chance) and basicly take out 1 enemy champ from 1st round making it into 4 vs 3. And at 2nd round you get crimson slayer to move as first guaranteed to make AoE nuke.
This also gives your A1 more effective chance to proc.

This champ is rly one of the strongest rares in arena from rares ive seen (i actually think its as goos as Elhan if properly build but needs 2-3x more books invesment). Costs to upgrade are retared high… They should reduce the books needed to get to max power to make this game better and probably people would be able to notice how strong it is, as basicly no one maxes her out.

  23. Az

    What is the best set?

  24. ModifiedB13

Ayumi it would be really helpful if every equipment set had a hover over or linked description. I constantly forget what is what as far as required number of pieces and abilities go..

  25. Arkkinite

@metro gnome: I don’t think you should fully book her, seeing as it requires a LOT of books to finish.

I think she can be great for Fire Knight, especially if you HAVE to rely on her 3hit A1 to break FK’s shield (even if you have counterattack/reflex dmg it will still be good)

  26. metro gnome

    *sigh*

  27. metro gnome

Ok… So I want to invest in this champion for help with the fire knight (which is why I six star ascended and fully booked a Frostbringer :-p)

Before I begin the long journey and the exceptional amount of booking required…
What is the current review status of this champ?
She is my highest rated rare (now that Mother Superior has also been downgraded)

@Jamie: I have updated Crimson Slayer stars to reflect the one in-game. For gear, it would depend on where you use Crimson Slayer. For Clan Boss, I would go with Lifesteal Set unless you have a very good healer in your team setup such as Vrask or Bad-el-Kazar. For quick damage burst in Arena and Campaign, Offense and Speed set would be good on this champion.

  29. Jamie

    Hi there.

Love your guide but could you please update the star and gear type priority for crimson slayer?

    Thanks
    Jamie

  30. Craig

I’ve had her for awhile now, curious if the 19 books are worth it?! She’s fun in everything & seems on paper that she’d melt face if fully booked & geared. I wanna build her but dang…19 books…
