Faction Wars Guide & Champion Tier List | Raid Shadow Legends

Faction Wars Guide | Raid Shadow Legends Faction Crypt Boss
Faction Wars is a new feature introduced in Raid Shadow Legends where you use champions belonging to a specific Faction to clear the Faction Crypt floors to farm Glyphs and Forge materials. Glphys are used to enhance artifacts substats to enhance champions stats significantly. Forge Materials allows you to craft Resilience Set (HP +10%, DEF +10%) and Perception Set (ACC +40, SPD +5%) artifacts. Each Faction Crypt has 3 floors guarded by a boss at Floor 7, 14 and 21. Completing all Faction Crypt floors with 3 stars rewards Lydia the Deathsiren who is a powerful Legendary Champion!

Raid Shadow Legends – Faction Wars Overview

  • There are 21 stages in Faction Wars and 3 are Boss stages located in Stage 7, 14 and 21.
  • You will need to complete each stage before you can proceed to the next stage.
  • If you successfully complete the stage while meeting the Faction War challenges, you gain more stars. As a result, more rewards are unlocked at specific amount of stars.
  • Raid each Faction’s Crypt to earn Glyphs (HP, ATK, DEF, SPD, RESIST, ACC) and materials for forging artifacts (Perception, Resilience, Deflection, Swift Parry) at the Forge.
  • Glyphs are used to enchant your Artifacts to increase their substats, making them even more powerful.
  • Faction Wars also provides a one-time reward upon achieving a certain star threshold. The more stars you gain from Faction Crypts, the more rewards you gain!

Faction War Challenges (Star Requirement)

✰✰★ Clear the Stage.
✰★★ Clear the Stage with at least 3 Champions without losing a Champion.
★★★ Clear the Stage with 5 Champions without losing a Champion.

Top 3 Common Mistakes in Faction Wars

  • Skipping Faction War: If you did not do Faction War daily, you’re losing the opportunity of getting Glyphs that can substantially boost your champion’s stat that gives you an edge in all areas of the game as well as not being able to farm Forge materials to craft equipment (Swift Parry, Resilience, Perception and Deflection). Do the highest difficult stage that your team is capable of or less difficult one that is easy to speed run if you do not have much time to play the game.
  • Bad Team Synergy: If you build up your team with all massive damage dealers of 5 star rating or vice versa, you will not be able to proceed far as higher difficulty stage will easily survive the attacks with their massive HP and DEF stats. A well-balanced team is a solution to tackle all stages and it requires at least 1 Attack Champion for dealing AoE (Area of Effect) damage or high single-target damage, 1 Support Champion and debuffer for Crowd Control. The remaining 2 champions can be in either of these 3 roles depending on the enemy composition in each stage to help speed up the Faction Wars run.
  • Skipping Advanced Quests: Advanced Quests provides additional Faction War keys if you participated 5 battles of Tag Team Arena 3v3 regardless of win/lose. If you avoided them because you do not have the champions to win the battle, then you are losing these free keys everyday! It’s okay to lose in Tag Team Arena because gaining keys is much more important to improve your champions, and eventually, your champions become stronger in all areas. You could keep your Tag Team Arena Defenses low so you can be in a lower tier to farm Gold Bars easily too!

List of Faction War Boss Skills and Guide

Below are 5 Faction War bosses (Red, Purple, Green, Blue and Yellow) and each of them has unique skills that require a different strategy to counter them. In addition, some bosses have sidekicks that supports them. It’s recommended to remove the sidekicks as soon as possible to make it easier to defeat the boss.

Faction Wars Boss Skills

Common Boss Skill

  • Almighty Immunity [Passive] Immune to [Stun], [Freeze], [Sleep], [Provoke], [Block Active Skills], [Fear] and [True Fear] debuffs. Also immune to HP exchange effects, HP balancing effets and cooldown increasing effects.
  • Note: These Faction War bosses can be controlled via [Decrease Speed] debuff and [Decrease Turn Meter]. If you do have champions that have these skills, it will make the boss much more easy as they prevent the boss from taking his turn quickly!
Raid Shadow Legends Faction War Boss Red Guide

Faction War Red Boss Skills

  • Ephemeral Impalement [ATK] Attacks 1 enemy. Will ignores target’s DEF. Damage Multiplier: 0.5 Target MAX HP + ATK
  • Staggering Recovery (Cooldown: 4 turns) Removes all debuffs from this champion. Places a [True Fear] debuff on a random enemy for 1 turn. Places a [Stun] debuff on all enemies except that enemy for 1 turn. These debuffs cannot be resisted. Grants an extra turn.
  • Unremitting [Passive] Fills this champion’s Turn Meter by 2% for every 1% of HP they lose when attacked. This is counted from the damage taken per hit.

How to beat Red Faction War Boss?

  • Stage 21 Boss for: Dwarves / Lizardmen / Undead Hordes / Shadowkin
  • Recommended Champion Skill: Ally Protection, Heal, Revive, Block Debuff
  • Recommended Champion Artifact: Shield Set, Life Set, Immortal Set
  • To counter the boss high damage that ignores defense, equip your champions with high HP% stat to achieve 50~60K HP to allow them to survive at least 2 boss hits. The boss’s single-target damage can be further reduced by applying Ally Protection to your team as well as applying Decrease Attack debuff on the boss.
  • To counter the boss passive skill, apply Poison debuff instead of attacking him directly with your champion skills. With this method, it will avoid speeding up the Boss’s Turn Meter. Alternatively, you can apply Decrease Speed and Decrease Turn Meter to slow down the boss or deal small amount of damage so you have sufficient time to reset your champion’s skill cooldown.
Raid Shadow Legends Faction War Boss Purple Guide

Faction War Purple Boss Skills

  • Fickle Courage [ATK] Attacks all enemies. Has a 25% chance to place a [Fear] debuff for 1 turn. This chance increases by 15% per each buff placed on this champion. Damage Multiplier: 4 ATK
  • Mirror Universe [ATK] (Cooldown: 3 turns) Attacks all enemies. Steals all buffs from each enemy, then transfers all debuffs from this champion to a random enemy. Then applies a [Debuff Spread] effect, taking all debuffs from that enemy and placing them on all enemies. Damage Multiplier: 6 ATK.
  • Meddle with Fate (Cooldown: 12 turns) Exchanges remaining HP levels with a target enemy.
  • Support #1 Places a [Provoke] debuff on all enemies for 2 turns.
  • Support #2 Places a [Leech] debuff on all enemies for 2 turns.

How to beat Purple Faction War Boss?

  • Stage 21 Boss for: Skinwalkers / Knight Revenants / Orcs
  • Recommended Champion Skill: Heal, Stun, Freeze, High Damage Skill
  • Recommended Champion Artifact: Resist Set, Offense Set,
  • To counter the boss debuff and instant negative effects, equip your champions to be in high resist stats (e.g. +300 Resist for Stage 21) to avoid debuff being transfered and buff stolen.
  • To counter the boss HP exchange, you will need to deal as much damage as possible before that skill cooldown is reset.
  • It’s recommended to defeat the 2 minions first as they will distract your champions from hitting the boss to allow the boss to recover from Leech debuff and giving him sufficient time to reset his HP exchange skill. You can apply Stun, Freeze, or Sleep debuff on the minions to prevent them from taking their turn.
Raid Shadow Legends Faction War Boss Green Guide

Faction War Green Boss Skills

  • Perfect Venom [ATK] Attacks 1 enemy. Places a 5% [Poison] debuff on the target for 3 turns. Decreases the target’s Turn Meter by 35%. Damage Multiplier: 6 ATK.
  • Wave of Finality [ATK] (Cooldown: 3 turns) Attacks all enemies. Places a [True Fear] debuff for 1 turn. Also places a 5% [Poison] debuff for 3 turns and decreases the Turn Meters of all enemies by 50%. Damage Multiplier: 6 ATK.
  • Acidic Blood [Passive] Places a [HP Burn] debuff for 1 turn on the attacked when hit.
  • Support #1 Places a [Block Damage] buff on the boss for 1 turn.
  • Support #2 Places a [Block Debuff] buff on the boss for 1 turn.

How to beat Green Faction War Boss?

  • Stage 21 Boss for: Orgryn Tribe / Dark Elf / Sylvan Watchers
  • Recommended Champion Skill: Block Debuff, Remove Debuff, Heal, Shield
  • Recommended Champion Artifact: Resist Set, Speed Set
  • To counter the boss’s Decrease Turn Meter, Fear and Poison debuff, equip your champions with high Resist stat (+300 Resist for Stage 21) to resist those negative effects.
  • To counter the boss’s HP Burn damage, include a healer in your team to heal your champions quickly. Altneratively, Shield buff can mitigate both Poison and HP Burn damage.
  • It’s recommended to defeat the 2 minions first as they will prevent your champions from dealing damage and applying debuff to the boss.
Raid Shadow Legends Faction War Boss Blue Guide

Faction War Blue Boss Skills

  • Wailing Maelstrom [ATK] Attacks all enemies. Has a 40% chance of placing a [Fear] debuff for 1 turn. Damage Multiplier: 4 ATK.
  • Reconstruct (Cooldown: 4 turns) Revives all dead allies with full HP. Places a [Sleep] debuff on this champion for 1 turn.
  • Legion Lord (Cooldown: 4 turns) Attacks 1 enemy with 2 random allies. Places a [Block Damage] buff on this champion for 1 turn if all allies are dead. Allies joining the attack use their default skills.
  • Support #1 Attacks all enemies 1 time. Damage Multiplier: 0.4 Target MAX HP
  • Support #2 Attack 1 target champion and another random champion. Ignores Defense. Always land as normal hit. Damage Multiplier: 0.6 Target MAX HP

How to beat Blue Faction War Boss?

  • Stage 21 Boss for: Banner Lords / Sacred Order
  • Recommended Champion Skill: Decrease Attack, Decrease Defense, Stun, Freeze
  • Recommended Champion Artifact: Resist Set, Speed Set, Stun Set
  • Observation: The main threat in this stage is Rowan (right minion) as she inflicts high amount of damage. The boss can execute Ally Join Attack, which allow all his minions and himself to attack 1 specific target. If the minion is defeated, the boss can revive them.
  • To counter the boss’s ally join attack, you will need to defeat the 2 minions quickly or crowd control them with Stun, Sleep or Freeze. Provoke debuff does not work on the minions as they can still attack multiple champions in your team!
  • To counter the boss’s Fear debuff, have your champions equipped with high resist stat (e.g. +300 Resist for Stage 21) or have at least 1 Support champion who can remove debuff or places Block Debuff on your champions.
Raid Shadow Legends Faction War Boss Yellow Guide

Faction War Yellow Boss Skills

  • Consuming Furor [ATK] Attacks 2 random enemies. Each hit places a [Provoke] debuff for 2 turns. Damage Multiplier: 7 ATK.
  • Fearsome Lash [ATK] (Cooldown: 4 turns) Attacks all enemies. Places a [True Fear] debuff for 2 turns. Damage Multiplier: 5 ATK.
  • Cloak Stasis [Passive] Has a 20% chance of placing a [Freeze] debuff for 1 turn on the attacker when hit. This debuff cannot be resisted.
  • Support #1 Heals the boss for 80% HP and places a 60% [Increase DEF] buff.
  • Support #2 Heals the boss for 30% HP and places a 30% [Increase SPD] buff.

How to beat Yellow Faction War Boss?

  • Stage 21 Boss for: High Elves / Barbarians / Demonspawn
  • Recommended Champion Skill: Block Debuff, Remove Debuff, Heal
  • Recommended Champion Artifact: Resist Set, Speed Set, Lifesteal Set
  • To counter the boss’s Fear and Provoke debuff, equip your champion’s with high resist stats (e.g. +300 Resist for Stage 21).
  • To counter the boss’s Freeze passive skill, have at least 1 champion in your team who can remove debuff and apply Block Debuff.
  • If you do not have the resources to build a high resistant team, the budget option is having the primary support champion who can remove debuff and apply block debuff to be in high resist. This will allow her to support the team without losing a turn from Fear and Provoke debuff.
  • It’s recommended to defeat the 2 minions first to prevent them from healing the boss and applying Increase Defense and Increase Speed buff on him.

How to defeat Faction Crypt Boss?

How to defeat The Disruptor Faction Crypt Boss? (Yellow)

The Disruptor is all about stopping your team in its tracks, as he’s armed with a whole host of control debuffs, which are Provoke, True Fear and Freeze. The Disruptor places Provoke debuff with his Consuming Furor (A1 Skill) and True Fear debuff with his Fearsome Lash (A2 Skill), and has a 20% chance of Freezing any champion that hits him. The Freeze debuff can’t be resisted, so be ready to remove it or live with it. To defeat the Disruptor, you will need champions that can place the Block Debuffs buff on all allies, or clear the debuffs he places on you. If you don’t have Champions available that can manage that, equip your Crypt team with high Resist Artifacts. Don’t forget to control and kill the Crypt Keeper’s minions, as they will put out tons of healing to keep the Boss alive!

How to defeat The Mirroer Faction Crypt Boss? (Purple)

The fight against The Mirrorer is a race, and one of the most dangerous encounters in Faction Wars. He will place Fear on your whole team, with the chance of it increasing for each buff he has. He will also steal all the buffs from your team and transfer any debuffs he has on to your Champions instead. Finally, his trickiest skill is the swap of HP percentage with the target with the highest HP. The cooldown for the HP swap is 12 turns, so keep an eye on it. The Crypt Keeper’s minions will place Provoke and Leech on your Champions, making it nearly impossible to take him down fast enough. Only start working on killing the boss once both minions are out of the picture. To win the battle you will need to plan the placement of buffs and debuffs around his Mirror Universe Skill, where he swaps your buffs for his debuffs. This skill has a 3-turn cooldown, and if you play your cards right, you can avoid the swap. You can also select single-target nukers to kill the Mirrorer before he swaps HP with your Champion.

How to defeat The Protector Faction Crypt Boss? (Blue)

The Protector is all about supporting his two minions. The damage they inflict depends on their target’s HP, so they will always hit hard. To defeat this team you will need Champions that can control the minions to prevent team attacks. However, the trick is only to control but not kill them, otherwise, the Protector will place a Block Damage buff on himself. With minions out of the way, you will easily defeat this Crypt Keeper.

How to defeat The Dueler Faction Crypt Boss? (Red)

The Dueler lives up to his name: he prefers to stun all enemies and leave just one target to fight against. Resistance won’t help you here, because the Stun and True Fear placed by his Staggering Recovery Skill cannot be resisted. But it can be blocked or removed, so you’ll need Champions that can place Block Debuffs or remove debuff from their allies. You will also need a healer on your team because this boss ignores his target’s DEF and inflicts damage based on the target’s MAX HP. Ally Protection can help reduce the damage, but it won’t take long for him to tear down his target. Just nuking down the boss isn’t an option, as he fills his Turn Meter based on the damage he takes. He’s guaranteed to take at least a few turns, so if you want to get 3 stars in this fight, you’ll need to focus on durability over damage.

How to defeat The Incinerator Faction Crypt Boss? (Green)

The Incinerator wants to see your team wither. He will place Poison debuffs on your team with his first two skills, all while decreasing their Turn Meters. He also puts out HP Burn when he’s attacked. To conquer the Incinerator, bring the Champions that can block debuff or remove debuffs. A powerful healer will help your team a lot, too. Do not forget about the minions. They’ll protect the boss with Block Damage and Block Debuffs, making him very difficult to hurt. Taking them out first should be a priority.

  2. Steven

  3. Steven

You left out Grohak from the barbarian faction, and you gave him 5 stars on his page.

  4. Chris Bednar

The FW Purple Boss stage Cheats, eveery time I get there I take off autoplay and the 1st few hits give me the option of hitting the minions after that it goes into autoplay automatically which is BS and I lose my whole team my Kael lasts pretty long cause he’s 36 lvl to 6*. I’ve done it multiple times and it does that every time I’m done with that part of the game!

  5. Spotz

Can you add which boss is at the end of Sylvan Watchers’ FW crypt please? Thank you! Great work as always!

  6. FCHolden59

What would be really nice is for this list to be set in an excel spreadsheet for easy download and print as a quick reference guide.
You have a lot of info pages that could benefit from this.
Amazing website, keep up the great work. Most useful site I have ever come across.

  7. Renata

O chefe azul que revive os aliados posso matar um e deixar o outro vivo diminuindo o dano recebido e facilitando o atordoamento mas a dúvida é posso usar bloqueio de ressurreição nos aliados do chefe?

I thought I was crazy trying to search for it. 🙂

  11. Ryan

  12. Killwaukee

Have you stopped updated the list of champs? Not sure how new Deliana is, but I noticed she doesn’t appear on this list. Just curious if she will be added. Thank you for the guides!

  13. Artemissen

  14. Artemissen

Archbishop pinthroy is not on this list.

  15. frost

    Hello,
i’d like to report Sir Artimage is missing from Banner Lords ranking here in Faction Wars page.
    Thanks in advance.

  16. Timbo23

Did they increase key requirements in faction wars? Mine seem higher than they used to be.

  17. kie

What exactly are the Bosses speeds on level 21? I’m having trouble finding this information and based on my Dwarfs 21 team it looks like more than 190 but I would like an exact information. Thanks for the bosses guide!

  18. Sir.K

I think you should link Manibal’s playlist of FW guides he did with Azazel.
It’s the absolute best and most complete guide out there on youtube.

  19. Venjur

Ahhh, yes, sweet organization has returned, many thanks, this site is my main RSL crutch! 😀

  20. Ayumilove Post author

@everyone: I have updated this Faction War page by categorizing the champions based on their Faction followed by their rating. If you aren’t able to view the latest changes, try clearing the browser cache.

  21. Ayumilove Post author

@Miccalea: Thanks for the notice! I’ll be updating the quick jump links shortly. I’m currently implementing a new way to do the listing quickly, as it’s becoming much more difficult to manage hundreds of champions.

  22. Ayumilove Post author

@Sobe69: Could you kindly send me a screenshot of the error to my e-mail? On my side it looks fine to me. Try clearing your Internet Browser cache and force clear cache (CTRL+F5) on your browser to see if it resolves the issue.

Edit: Okay, I understand the issue now! I listed the champions incorrectly, which is based on the Rarity of the champions. I’ll be updating the page again with the champions categorized under each faction. Apologies for any inconvenience caused!

  23. Sobe69

    Hi Ayumilove.
It seems like your DB list of champions sorted by faction and ranking is not working properly now. It just gives a very long list sorted by stars.
    I hope that wasn’t intentional.
And, while I’m here, I have to say that I’ve appreciated what you have done so very much.
    Infinite thank you’s

  24. Miccalea

the quick jumps aren’t working and not sorting anymore 🙁

  25. Tyr Boh

To me, it would seem the most useful sorting for the information on this page would be:
    Faction
    Star Rating
    Alphabetical

    Or even:
    Faction
    Rarity
    Star Rating
    Alphabetical

Either way, not sorting by faction makes it much more difficult to quickly compare and contrast champions for a prospective team composition.

  26. Ian S

    I see the same problem.

  27. Chris Bird

Why is it not sorted by faction anymore? Is it just me that sees it?

  28. Lendrickian

Mycolus is missing from the Ogryn Tribes section on this page

  29. Riptide

    heigh elves has purple boss?

  30. Tanuvan

@Markurius Yep. Just noticed that as well. Hopefully he’ll be up soon. Lol, because mine I just 6 starred

  31. Markus Aellig

    Thank you for your help!

  32. Can

Been visiting this web site for over a year, really really a great site. Very appreciate all you efforts and advices.

  33. Markurius

    Toragi the frog is missing?

  34. Ayumilove Post author

@HW3: To defeat the Blue Boss, you will need a champion who can perform Block Revive, so the boss will not be able to revive the champion. For Sacred Order faction, I use Fenax to perform the Block Revive on the boss minion. For Banner Lords, you can crowd control those minions with Stun or Decrease Turn Meter or kill them quickly before they can perform the Ally Join Attack.

  35. Ayumilove Post author

@LevKaz: I have updated the Faction ranking page with all the new champions, which includes the new Dwarf Legendary champion Underpriest Brogni!

  36. LevKaz

I am missing several dwarves I have. Will you update the guide in the near future? Probably on other races there will be new heroes missing, too….

  37. HW3

The blue boss – I have banner lords and sacred order stuck on 60 stars each, they get devoured as soon as they hit the last room in the stage

  38. Ayumilove Post author

@all: I have included the Faction War boss skills and strategy guide on how to counter them.

  39. Ayumilove Post author

@Astaroth: Wagonbane is now listed in the Faction Wars champion list!

  40. Ayumilove Post author

@Dosmond: I have removed the duplicate link for Yannica. Thanks 🙂

  41. Ayumilove Post author

@Nathanial Stewart: I have removed the extra Elenaril from the list! Thanks for highlighting the error.

  42. Nathanial Stewart

Thank you for your excellent guides, Ayumilove! Just a brief note – Elenaril is listed under both 4* and 3*. Thanks again!

  43. Dosmond

leaving a comment here as i noticed on high elves, Yannica is listed under both 4 and 5 star

  44. Astaroth

Wagonbane (new rare from Vergumkaar fusion) has a 4star rating for Ogryn Tribes faction wars but isn’t on this list 🙂

  45. Leader-HAD

this is super helpful , thx very much

  46. Ayumilove Post author

@all: I have taken 4 days going through all 400+ Champions and updating the Faction Wars rating for them. If you see any champion missing, feel free to comment below.

  47. Ayumilove Post author

@Tyler Kelly: Grizzled Jarl has been added into the list.

  48. Ayumilove Post author

@GooN: Rae has been added into the list.

  49. GooN

Dark Elves – Rae? Am I blind?

  50. Tyler Kelly

Grizzled Jarl is 5 star for dwarves and not on the list.

  51. Asen24

    Don’t understand
for example: HIGH ELVES CHAMPION RANKING
    where is Apothecary? Tayrel? Thenasil?

in return it is Heiress? Vergis?
    Don’t understand

  52. Jiraiya311

I will tell you Apothecary’s rank for Faction wars. SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SPEEEEEED, BOOOOOOOST, HEEEEAAALL Just like the rest of the game he’s practicallly an S-Tier Legendary in a triple SSS tier Rare Skin.

  53. rakschas

The Undead Hordes faction is missing Zelotah (epic, support).

I’d say he’s a 5 star for FW, he comes with a 4 turn CD shield on all allies and 15% continuous heal for 2 turns each out of the box as well as an a3 that hits all targets that has a 50% (75% if target has debuffs) chance to put sleep on the target.

He might not be Bad-EL but he still deserves a top tier spot.

  54. Ayumilove Post author

@Maître Chang: I haven’t rated all the Champions in-game for Faction Wars. That’s the reason its not listed here yet.

  55. Maître Chang

Sorry asking again Ayumilove, I think you did not see my comment.
Why is Apothecary not listed in the High Elves champions for faction wars? Is Battlesage a way better option?
    Thanks!

  56. Ayumilove Post author

@Lord Eukaryos: I have removed the duplicate Lizardmen champion list. Thanks!

  57. Ayumilove Post author

@Lethany: I’m currently updating other parts of the sites such as the buff/debuff section to have unique sub-categories to ease the searching of champions. Also, added some new champions that are not in the game yet.

  58. Lethany

Is this stil under development or abandoned?

I feel like high elves are missing some love.

  59. Lord Eukaryos

Do you know that Lizardmen appear twice in this list ?

  60. Tony

Bannerlords missing rares conqueror and vanguard

Hello! Many said it already but great job for this site!
May I ask why Apothecary is not listed in the High Elves champions?
    Thanks!

@roy537: That’s a good idea! I’ll put that it into my to do list 🙂
