Belanor Review

Belanor is a Legendary Attack Void affinity champion from the High Elves faction in Raid Shadow Legends. He is known for his impeccable hair and powerful wings. Despite his striking appearance and the slight advantage his wings give him in battles, he is often overlooked in teams because all of his abilities are single targets.

However, Belanor’s true strength is revealed when paired with Zavia, as their combination enhances his abilities. Belanor is capable of dealing heavy damage and is particularly effective in Clan Boss battles, especially when used as a debuffer in unkillable teams. In addition, he is also highly effective in Faction War boss fights and Dungeon bosses due to his decrease defense and weaken abilities.

For a long time, Belanor’s potential remained untapped until the release of Patch 6.30. With this update, Belanor received a significant buff that transformed him into a formidable AOE damage dealer with the ability to decrease defense and weaken his enemies. This newfound strength made him a highly playable champion and a force to be reckoned with in battles.

Belanor’s journey from a champion overlooked by many to a highly playable and sought-after hero is a testament to the ever-evolving world of Raid Shadow Legends. As new patches and updates are released, champions are given the opportunity to shine and their potential fully realized. Belanor is just one example of a champion who has been transformed by the game’s ongoing development, and his story serves as an inspiration to players everywhere.

Belanor Champion Lore

Belanor gives the lie to some of the most cherished and embellished myths exported worldwide by the High Elves of Aravia. They would have the world believe that they have tamed their base emotions, that they are beings of pure calculating logic and reason, and that their society is orderly and obedient because High Elves are inherently superior as governors and as citizens. But such proclamations do not align with the facts of day-to-day existence. No matter what the Aravians say, High Elf rebels, dreamers, misfits, and mavericks all exist. Thanks to the charm of a Dark Elf named Zavia, Belanor joined this little-discussed minority in the course of his duty at Felwin’s Wall.

The Wall is almost entirely staffed by auxiliaries from abroad, but High Elves do live and work there in small numbers, mainly in administrative and supervisory positions. A small number of talented individuals sometimes serve as instructors for the defense forces, and drill their foreign legionnaires ruthlessly until they meet exacting Elven standards. Belanor, renowned as a master marksman and tactician, was among these martial tutors. Not long after his first season in post, his mind became occupied by stories of an intruder whose silhouette had been seen darting about the Wall. Curious, he took to nightly wanderings on the battlements.

It wasn’t long before his vigilance bore fruit. One night, while gazing at the vast dark forest of Durham from atop the wall, Belanor’s eye was caught by something moving. He turned to see an astonishing sight: a Dark Elf woman standing on the Wall, gazing mischievously back at him and gently fluttering a pair of gray feathery wings. Stunned only briefly, he leveled his crossbow at the intruder and demanded her surrender, but she merely shot him a grin and told him she’d be seeing him again. With that, she darted away and made a seemingly-suicidal drop onto the Aravian side, only to glide to safety. Belanor could certainly have shot her down, but something stayed his hand. Instead he merely reported the security breach as protocol demanded, which earned him ridicule and disbelief. A winged Elf was, with magical augmentations or clever mechanisms not beyond the realm of possibility, but few believed the Dark Elves could have developed such a technique without Aravian reconnaissance learning of it.

But the Dark Elf and her wings were undeniably real, and she made good on her promise to see Belanor again. The next time was on her return trip from Aravia back toward Durham, and this time Belanor was prepared, and lunged at her immediately. In their tussle she told him her name was Zavia and she was surmounting Felwin’s Wall to send a message: dividing their people was futile, and Elves deserved to be free. Their ongoing clash drew the attention of a nearby patrol group, and Zavia escaped. Belanor’s second failure to apprehend Zavia cast grave doubts upon him, and rumors of reprimand or dismissal swirled, but Belanor did not care. He grew obsessed with Zavia, and in time he realized he was infatuated with her. He envied her freedom, he was attracted to her impetuous and carefree ways, and as his superiors deliberated on how to handle her, he dreamed only of the chance to see her again. Who can predict or control love? Even the haughty Elves must bend to its tempestuous forces.

On their third meeting, Belanor confessed his affections. Zavia laughed, but not with malice. Then she kissed him, and held his hand in hers. She told him to hold it tightly, and led him to the ledge. At that moment a furious Ogryn sergeant arrived on the scene and bellowed that Belanor would be charged with treason. But Belanor had made his choice and, after embracing Zavia tightly, they jumped. By the time the Ogryn reached the ledge and looked down, the pair were gone, into the world of outlawry.

Was Belanor bewitched? How did Zavia gain the wings that gave her the freedom to pass over Felwin’s Wall? And does she have plans more complex and nefarious than simple disobedience? No one knows for sure, but in any case, Belanor has left his old life behind in search of a kind of freedom he could never have gained before.

Belanor Storyline

Hatred is a powerful thing, one that is, perhaps, as hard as death to overcome. Yet even here love finds a way, in the story of Belanor and Zavia. Cruel fate had them fight on different sides of one of the many conflicts between the High Elves of Aravia and the exiles known as Dark Elves. Still, even though the bloody fog of war, through hate, and fury, these two souls were united.

As stragglers of a battle between the warring Elven factions, they were initially forced to survive an unwelcoming orc-infested desert together. The sheer adversity and the dangers they faced allowed them to see a person behind the mask of an enemy. The passion that was sparked then survived far beyond a temporary alliance of convenience. And, in the end, both Belanor and Zavia chose to escape together rather than continue the feud. Now seen as traitors and deserters by their former allies, the two of them had no choice but to live on the run.

They faced persecution, poverty, and mortal danger together. Finally, they were captured and sentenced to death for their crimes. Yet when the first light of dawn broke and the jailors arrived to take the fugitives to the scaffold, they were taken aback. The cell was locked and secured, with not a single hint at how the captives escaped. The only thing they found were two feathers on the stone floor, one black as night, the other – white as Lumaya’s light. To this day no one knows what transpired on that night, though some, as they often do, attribute the miraculous escape to the Arbiter.

  1. GinBean

Hey guys, I just pulled this guy and quick tested him naked and his a2 applies both def down and weakness to all enemies, does him worth the efford and resources to 6 stars now?

  2. Malific

@Darwin180985 That’s a lot of text to say “I didn’t actually read what someone wrote, I just wanted to insult them.”

At no point does ArticFOX say Bel is a late game champ, quite the opposite if you actually read what they wrote. Several times they clearly state he’s not needed and you should look to others. I mean sheesh his first comment says he has Bel vaulted and and is clearly a disappointment.

Your entire two pages of rant just sound insane and pedantic, arguing against a point that was never made in the first place.

  3. Darwin180985

And just to clarify @ArcticF0X because you decided to use sarcasm to get your point across…let’s walk through all the reasons what you said is strategically just not good strategy. Belanor requires 100% crit rate to apply his 30% crit rate buff to everyone, so no; he doesn’t blanket apply it to everyone, 1/5 of your team has to be 100% crit maxed for this buff to to applied. You know who doesn’t need 100% crit rate to apply not only a 30% crit rate buff to your team but also a 30% crit damage buff as well? A spirit EPIC champ named farakin. Oh yea, also a FREE TO PLAY magic EPIC champ named archmage helmut. These are both epic champs and don’t require you to wait light years to gear/book. As for his void status, got it, he doesn’t weak hit. You know who else doesn’t weak hit? Madam serris, oh yea, also she doesn’t just apply decrease defence to one enemy, she strips every single buff from every single enemy and THEN applies decrease defence to all of them…and this serris gal….she is an epic…much more accessible. Oh did you need someone who applies decrease defence AND 100% turn meter reduction to ALL enemies? Try tomblord who is buyable in the shop. Oh, need someone who drops defence to ALL enemies and gives turn meter boost to ALL Ally’s and does so with 100% uptime? Try deacon Armstrong…again an epic (and not even a void epic). Need a tank killer? There are 7 endgame style single target nukers in the game that ignore defence, unkillable, shields, or block damage who Aren’t void legendary champs that require insane resources to max out. So, @Arctic F0X…I’m “supes” glad you finally found someone to help you beat nightmare campaign…must have been super difficult so I’m glad you finally got through it and he was the guy to do it for you. But I’m more excited for the day you graduate from jv to varsity and realize you don’t need him anymore until he gets the buff he truly deserves as a void leggo. He deserves better, and so do you. There is not a single area of the game that endgame players are using these guys. I hope that changes because void leggos should be usable EVERYWHERE. Sucks this isn’t the case with him. Lata playas.

  4. Darwin180985

A lot of weird flexing and REALLY weird insecurities going around the comments for no reason. To @ArcticF0X and Craig Lee, I can appreciate how exciting and pumped we all get when we pull leggos, especially void leggos…but believe it or not sometimes they are just duds. It is glaringly obvious that both of you are at best early to mid game players. This is not a put down and not meant to be insulting I just wanna put into context the excitement with which you are viewing Belenor (and Yakarl I guess?). Yakarl is worthless late game. There are too many champions that do what he does…but way better. Literally no one late game is using a Crowd control champ who only has a 75% chance to cc people WITH CONDITIONS. Belanor has the same issue as well, too many champions do what he does…only way better. You need damage? You go faceless or rotos or any number of single target tank killers who ignore defence. You need drop defence and weaken? You go to several other champs who can do that AOE and not just ONE TARGET. You need help with crit rate? Late game you really don’t need help crit capping anyone on your team who is supposed to be crit capped…it just comes with farming gear like you are supposed to be doing. Very few team comps have more than 2 nukers for ANY reason….so bringing in 1 champ to make it easier to crit cap 2-3 guys (one of which is him) is a little inefficient to say the least. You guys keep caveating “with good support” or “he helps in these areas.” Sure…early to early mid game those may be useful skills and abilities…but they fall off really quickly late game. Belanor is a void leggo and it sucks to say because I only had a hand full of void leggos when I pulled him, but he sits on the bench as a late game player. Some champs just bring very little utility to the game compared to certain epics. He is one of them.

  5. Craig Lee

Hey, ArcticFOX, I’d just like to say, you need to simply rework your Yakarl if he’s not doing any work for you, because I have him too, and also thought at first glance that he was a crappy leggo, but after playing around with styles and equipment, I’ve come to use him fairly often, albeit in a situational manner.

I maxed his crit rate and speed and accuracy as best as possible using Speed and Accuracy gear and he works great for Doom Tower as well as some Nightmare campaign levels. With enough speed and accuracy he can dart in, freeze enemies and increase his turn meter. I’m sure I’m being clumsy with my words but I can only say he’s a solid champ, especially when paired with good support. Mine easily freezes whole teams of enemies while my other champs nick them down bit by bit. Try out some variations and see what happens.

I just pulled Belanor and have Zaria already so I’m hoping they might be interesting together. We shall see.

  6. ArcticF0X

Please downgrade this small-winged chump to B-tier or even C-tier. Most disappointing Void leggo I have pulled since the other one (Yakarl the Scumbug).

  7. ArcticF0X

As a late game player I have around 20 crit-capped champions so I don’t need to take this guy everywhere to make my teams work. If your gear is up to scratch you absolutely don’t need him. As a single target hitter, Faceless (Void Epic) hits way harder. Belanor should be an Epic with this kit, and even then I would probably skip building him.

  8. Jeahfoo2

@ArcticFox. As someone who has 2 Belanors and has used him in UK CB before, I agree with what you are saying. However, as a void lego he’s not the most exciting to pull. I’d say his viability would improve significantly if they just buffed that drop D/weaken combo and made it an AOE unconditionally. He would instantly be viable everywhere and one of the few dropD/weaken AOE champs out there.

  9. @ArcticF0X

Yeah, I agree. A champ that blanket applies 54 crit rate to your entire team is absolute trash.

Being able to ditch crit rate gloves for crit damage even at brand new super noob trash tier? Worthless. Even at your tier which resides roughly 9,000 levels lower than “brand new super noob trash tier” additional 54% crit rate = nothing to write home about.

The Multipliers for his skills are also total trash.

7.125 * atk (when booked) after decreasing defense and weaken? Busch league.

Alright I can’t keep up the sarcasm. To the people that have pulled him and are coming here first. Congrats you’ve pulled a solid champ. He allows you to pretty much entirely skip gearing crit rate. Well, you’ll only need to gear 31%.

If he wasn’t void it would be worth mentioning that his decrease defense and weaken being “placed” prior to hitting would mean they’re guarantees to land as long as you have the accuracy since “placed” debuffs can’t weak hit. Since he’s void none of that matters however as void doesn’t weak hit as weak hitting requires attacking against strong affinity. Long winded way of saying – as long as you meet accuracy check the debuff will land. Even without books! That’s an honest “not many champs” thing. Off hand I can’t even think of any others that have a guaranteed 100% chance of landing big decrease def as well as big weaken WITHOUT books.

But, ArcticF0X. Ralph Hope, and whoever else clearly he’s a vault guardian almost as bad as King Garage!

  10. Ralph Hope

@ArcticF0X he’s not even that useful in a CB unkillable team — draco does at least 2x the damage.

  11. Barno

I’m curious the justification for 5 star arena offense and defense?

  12. ArcticF0X

I have this guy in my vault. I was so disappointed to pull a Legendary Void and it’s him. Think of the champs it could have been. I tried him out at Level 50 in Faction Wars and he was underwhelming compared to Elhain. Nothing I see from any of the main Youtubers is at all praiseworthy. He’s completely overlooked. How does a champ that is only useful in Unkillable Clan Boss teams or in combination with with Zavia get an S-tier? S-tier should imply game-changing versatility across all areas. Not someone who is incredibly niche and requires you to pull a Maneater or a Zavia to get him to do any work.

Needs a buff to be relevant.

  13. maxxcmyk

I lucked out early on getting Belanor, and am waiting on a Zavia. Can’t wait to see that synergy go to work, though Elenaril has been a good substitute so far!

Got my good elf boi in some Divine Crit Rate, Crit Damage and Cruel gear and he’s been great at my level of play so far!

  14. Gohei27

Does he need accuracy? His A2 always applies correct and his A1 is based off crit, and his A3 has no accuracy requirement either.

  15. true_hnic

With 2 Zavia his secret sskill procs BOTH Zavias Poison Rain! Awesome

  16. LaLocos

You can see Belanor in UNM CB Unkillable Run at https://youtu.be/RDUyUaXIzAY
After patch 2.2.2. now he always do his A2 when the skill is not in cooldown.

  17. Ayumilove Post author

@Dede12847: I have updated Belanor skills based on Patch 2.20

  18. Dede12847

Please update Belanor and Zavia according to the newest Update of their skills.
Belanor: A1:same; A2: Places a 60% Decrease Def Debuff and a 25% Weaken debuff for 2 turns on 1 enemy, then attacks them. Places a Perfect Vail buff on this Champion for 2 turns after attacking. A3: Attacks 1 enemy. Will attack the enemy with lowest HP with any surplus damage if this attack kills an enemy. The surplus damage cannot be critical.
A4: Activates this Champion’s Swordleader skill.
Also activates Zavia’s Poison Rain Skill when Zavia is on the same team.

Makes him more viable now I think. Especially in combination with zavia.

  19. Mystreyman

The key to Belanor is he has to be paired with Zavia to get the most out of him.

    Tactical Partner (Cooldown: 4 turns)
Attacks 1 enemy. Places a 5% [Poison] debuff, a 50% [Decrease ATK] debuff, a 30% [Decrease SPD] debuff, and a 50% [Decrease ACC] debuff for 2 turns. [Only Available when Zavia is on the same team]

I can see where he would fall off if not on the same team as Zavia.

  20. Dave

Have you got the video uploaded Arkturius? Keen to see how you have him set up

  21. Yoskama

How this champion had the same rank as Rotos ??? For real is B rank close to C.

  22. Roberto Florez

I got a Belanor and the truth is that I am disappointed in this character, he has a very poor performance to be a legendary.

  23. Arkturius

Ayumi when it comes to belanor if you have only partial skills filled or the wrong masteries he will avoid his a2. with proper masteries he will ensure that his a2 is used off cooldown 100% of the time. my belanor is running 300% crit damage atm with relatively low speed for his pve build and I have 0 issues in spiders with him hits for around 180-400k with his skills depending on buffs and debuffs but he has 100% uptime on a2

  24. masaru

sure, i am sry^^ well i think he is just bad compared to other legos, espescially compared to other voids, bit even if i just compare him to single target hitter like crue, turvold or mk, he is just much much worse then them in every single aspect of the game. thats why i would never see him as A rank champ. i mean, trunda is one of the hardest multi hitter and you have her so bad ranked, and belanor is pretty good ranked, i just dont get the point why^^ dont get me wrong, he is one of my few voids, and i would love to see him as a good lego but for me he just isnt

  25. Ayumilove Post author

@masaru: Could you please elaborate more on why Belanor does not work out for you and in which area you feel he strongly and poorly performed?

  26. masaru

sry i mean A how on earth is he and A champ? i have him too and i think he just sucks. if he wouldnt need zavia for his a4 he would be awsome but alone he just sucks…

  27. Ayumilove Post author

@Arkturius: I have added a new Belanor video by AliAlPlays. Based from AliAlPlays experiences with Belanor, the champion does not uses his A2 Skill “Insurmountable” in Spider’s Den Boss.

  28. Ayumilove Post author

@msaru: Where did you see the Rank B for Belanor?

  29. masaru

how on earth belanor is an b rank leggo?

  30. Arkturius

I would like to post an updated video at a later date as this champion is actually much better than stated in spiders, dragon and campaign
