Balar the Lost Overview
Balar the Lost, once a noble protector known as the Knight of the Summer Crescent Moon, served as the guardian of the sacred Heart Tree until Corruption consumed him, twisting him into an agent of destruction. Now a champion of the Sylvan Watchers, Balar embodies a haunting blend of elegance and menace, resembling a Demonspawn in both appearance and lethality. Introduced during the Chaos Awakes event in Patch 10.50, he brings a refined focus on single-target devastation complemented by potent AoE debuff capabilities. With abilities that synergize with team compositions and excel in prolonged battles, Balar proves his worth in challenges like Demon Lord Clan Boss, Faction Wars, and Chimera Trials. This guide explores how his unique skill set elevates performance across various modes in Raid Shadow Legends.
Balar’s true strength lies in his ability to stack Poison debuffs and amplify their effects through his passive, making him a relentless force in prolonged battles. His Monstrous Growth skill not only places three 5% Poison debuffs on the initial target but also has the potential to spread these debuffs to all enemies if the attack lands a critical hit. Coupled with a 75% chance to apply Decrease Resistance on all foes and a 50% Increase Accuracy buff for his team, this ability sets the stage for devastating follow-ups. His Twyster of Life further capitalizes on these debuffs by instantly activating all Poison effects on enemies, dealing significant damage while placing a Leech debuff on all foes. This combination ensures consistent value against enemies capable of removing debuffs, while also speeding up runs in content like Doom Tower. Furthermore, his Malignant Thorns provides a Shield buff proportional to his ATK before attacking, along with a chance to apply Poison Sensitivity, a rare debuff that amplifies Poison damage and proves particularly effective against bosses. These mechanics make Balar a versatile champion capable of excelling in both offensive and defensive roles.
Beyond his raw damage output, Balar’s utility shines through his passive, Lost to Chaos, which grants a stacking Ignore Defense effect based on the number of Poison debuffs he activates. This bonus can reach up to 20%, making him a formidable threat in extended fights like those against Clan Bosses. Additionally, his Aura provides a massive 60 ACC boost to all allies in every battle, ensuring his team maintains consistency even against high resistance enemies. While Poison-based champions have historically struggled in Arena and Siege, the current meta, particularly with relics like Arachnelixir allows Balar to scale exceptionally well, potentially dealing massive damage with the Lethal Dose Blessing. However, players should remain cautious, as such power spikes are often subject to nerfs. Whether used as a solo powerhouse in Doom Tower or as a support piece in team compositions, Balar the Lost brings a unique blend of control, survivability, and scaling damage, cementing his place as a champion worth investing in for the future.

Balar the Lost Champion Lore Synopsis
Balar was once a noble protector known as the Knight of the Summer Crescent Moon. He served as the chief guardian of the Heart Tree, a sacred symbol of life and balance. But his fate took a grim turn when he confronted Praeva the Slitherer, a servant of the spreading Corruption. Though Balar bravely fought the Demonspawn’s warriors and even struck down Petrifya Rockroot, his efforts came too late. Praeva reached the Seed of Corruption, unleashing a darkness that consumed the Heart Tree. As the taint spread, it took Balar with it, twisting him into something unrecognisable.
Trapped within the darkened tendrils of the Corrupted Heart Tree, Balar lost all sense of who he had been. Once a defender of life, he became an agent of destruction, hunting the very beings he once swore to protect. He led monstrous Corrupted beasts into once-beautiful meadows and sacred groves, laying waste to everything in their path. The Sylvan Elves fell under his blade, their blood staining his hands and armour. He no longer fought for honour or duty. The only purpose that remained was to destroy.
Despite the long and devastating war between the Corrupted and the Sylvan, Balar endured. He fought in the final clash, the Battle of the Sacred Grove, where allies from many lands joined to fight against the forces of darkness. He saw the fall of mighty enemies like Akumori Jubokko and watched as the Heart Tree was set ablaze. Still, he survived. With the battle lost and the Heart Tree destroyed, Balar fled into the wilderness. Hunted and broken, he wandered without aim, reduced to a savage force that struck without warning.
Years passed, and Balar faded into myth, a ghost in the woods. But the arrival of Kurosa the Covetous changed everything. As she opened portals to begin her invasion of Teleria, a strange energy stirred Balar from his long silence. Drawn by the power of Anathraad’s darkness seeping through the rifts, he found new purpose. He travelled through the Mistwood, seeking out agents of the Demonspawn and gathering Corrupted stragglers who still lurked in the shadows.
Once again, Balar had a cause to fight for. Fueled by the swirling energies and the pull of ancient power, he prepared to rise. With the Corrupted gathering and the dark portals growing stronger, he believed there was still something left to achieve. Perhaps, with enough strength, even the Heart Tree might be brought back from the ashes.
