Grumbler Storyline

It is a well-known fact that a proper Dwarf is made up of these three essential elements: a beard, a heavy armour along with an axe or shield, and a foul temper. Indeed, Dwarves absolutely need to complain about something constantly, lest they wither away – so the wisdom of High Elves says anyway. The Grumblers personify that, albeit few call them that to their faces. These veteran warriors make up the backbone of many Dwarven armies, and their skill is only matched by their constant displeasure with this or that. But one should not be fooled by this dour attitude. Like many of their kind, Grumblers will gladly put themselves in harm’s way for their allies and fight to their last breath if they have to. It would be difficult to find a more dedicated friend, even if securing the respect of grizzled Dwarven soldiers is no easy task.

Because his damage is based on HP and DEF…. Deflection set on this guy? What do you think?

Honestly I just fed him to upgrade scyl, but he can tank some damage. If your free to play and get him starting off he’s probably a asset easy to book, then slap HP and or Regen, maybe deflection or shield set and he will take a beating. He’s just outclassed at a point when you have champs that do his heal reduction better and have better ally buff and big version of increase defense on whole team. Like sepulcher sentinel made it so I never used him anymore. 50 is probably as high as you should go with him. I wouldn’t six star him based on the measly, I mean small damage he brings. Dunno if warmaster would help but his damage is just impossible to get up, so it’s hard to make his a1 shield big at all.
Odd really, but I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks his damage sucks.

@alex4theGr8t I haven’t yet but plan to. Might take 3 weeks to win the fight if his damage really is as bad as people are saying but given my serious lack of shield champs, this is my fall back. Destroy set, with focus on hp/def (doubles as both dmg and tankiness) and as much resist as I can. As his shield isn’t based on dmg, it will hopefully hold up and avoid the multi hits. If provoke does land, his shield goes straight up again next hit anyway. It’s a solid theory I just haven’t got to testing it yet.

    Anyone test him on scarab?

force spider , retaliation set ? (high def+res)
i am using spirithost(magic ,void and spirit) , but she needs also crit and atk
this one could work also for magic and void, but keeping that hp down would be dificult…

His damage ability really does suck. Even without knowing the multipliers it just feels like it sucks. You’d think the combo of HP/DEF would be great but the percentages are awful. 0.1 DEF, really??

No Coming Back is the only attack that does decent damage and you only get it 1/3 turns.

He is, however a REALLY good damage soak, His HP base is decent. His ally protection buff is the lesser one but it books to 3 turns! Put him in a shield set with HP% on boots/torso/gloves with speed subsets, and he will soak up tons of HP for your entire team.

He’s not “bad” he’s just not good. He’s mediocre. Probably a good choice for factions and that’s about it. He’s going to increase your party’s toughness and be a damage sponge if you can ensure he’s the one being targeted but he’s not going to be laying out a ton of damage and his 50% healing reduction de-buff is a dime a dozen IMO; there’s 31 champs with a 100% healing reduction ability and 11 with 50% reduction.

I just got this guy and was about to start investing in him. He’s seem like a great tank. His skills seems solid why is he ranked as bad?
