GMS v.118 – Champions Update Highlights (2012-09-14)

Class Revamps

These classes have always been champions on the inside, but now they’ve got the additional strength and skills to prove it! here’s a sneak peak at some of the improvements.

Warrior

  • 1st job skills have higher damage, and lower level hunting and character growth are improved.
  • Power Stance has been improved to give greater advantage to Warriors.
  • Rush skills in the 4th job have been improve for abetter hunting experience int he fields.
  • Warrior mobility and overall attack skills are improved.

Magician

  • Increase damage and range.
  • Meditation skill can now stack with other Magic Attack increase buffs.
  • Lower cooltimes on certain skills.

Bowman

  • Increase damage output
  • Frostprey and Phoenix are now passive buffs and do not need to be summoned.

Legends

  • Three Legends classes will be available again for a limited time!
  • Cannoneer. Higher damage and attack speed.
  • Mercedes: Higher damage and target count.
  • Demon Slayer: Increase damage and shorter cooldown for Leech Aura.

New Features

PvP: Grand Battle
The original PvP mode has been revamped! Once in the battle mode zone, HP and DEf is adjusted to even the odds and put the focus squarely on skill. From 4PM – 10PM Pacific during the week and 1PM to 10PM Pacific on the weekends, step into the arena and duke it out for EXP rewards!

Extra Potential System
Your weapons are about to get a whole lot stronger. The Extra Potential Systenm allows you to add a extra line of potential to your equipment.

Fusion Anvil
The Fusion Anvil allows you to combine the looks of one item and the stats of another item of the same type. Now you don’t have to endure an ugly item just because it’s powerful.

Pet Dye Coupon
The Pet Dye Coupon allows you to customize your pet with any color you can dream up. The coupon will be release for select enw pets in the future.

Events

Charity: Water Events
Karma Koin and Nexon are teaming up to donate to Charity: Water! You can play a part and add to the donation amount by completing two water-themed events!

New Content

Grand Battle

  • Battle Square is open again, and a new battle mode has been added: Grand Battle!
  • Min. level requirement: 70 (Evans after 6th job advancement)
  • Cygnus Knights (Mihile excluded) cannot enter.
  • Enter Battle Square through the dimensional mirror located in most towns.
  • Grand Battle is open from 1 PM – 1 AM Pacific time every day.

Battlefield

  • Talk to NPC Crawson to join a battlefield.
  • Each battlefield has a max capacity of six players.
  • There are Lv. 70-119 battlefields and Lv. 120-200 battlefields – you will be automatically moved to the correct one.
  • Player health and DEF have been adjusted in the matches to provide a fair environment.
  • Most skills can be used in the battlefield.
  • USE and ETC items cannot be used. However, Gallant Potions do spawn in the battlefield to allow MP recovery.
  • If an opponent kills you, they will be marked with a red target.
  • Players with high win rates are marked with stars.
  • When you die, you are revived at one of the four revive locations at random.
  • Players start out in a Medium difficulty range and can move up to Advanced and Superior with better win rates.
  • You will be automatically moved to a battlefield with an appropriate difficulty level.
  • There is no time limit on battlefields. When you’re done battling, you can simply click the ROOM OUT button.

Rewards

  • You receive EXP for defeating other players, but the amount of EXP depends on character level and participation time.
  • Battlefields with a harder difficulty give an 1.5x or 2x EXP bonus.
  • Spending time in the battlefield increases your Gallant Gauge.
  • If you do not participate in battle, your Gallant Gauge decreases.
  • Fill up the Gauge in battle and exchange the points with the Gallant Emblem Exchange NPC that can be found in Battle Square to receive Gallant Emblems.
  • You must claim your Gallant Emblems from the Exchange before midnight Pacific each day, or they will be reset.
  • Cumulative win records and consecutive kills will also be reset at midnight Pacific.
  • Trade your Gallant Emblems in to NPC Larson for various items.
  • Lv. 130 Bloody equipment sets have been replaced with improved Grand equipment sets in Larson’s shop.

Bonus Potential

  • Equipment items can now be upgraded to have Bonus Potential.
  • Equipment must have Potential (of any Tier) before Bonus Potential can be added.
  • Bonus Potential has Rare, Epic, Unique and Legendary Tiers.
  • An icon next to the Bonus Potential line shows which Tier it is.
  • Regular Potential does not affect the Tier or stats of Bonus Potential.
  • Bonus Potential can be added with Slot Carvers. Basic and Intermediate Potential Slot Carvers drop from normal monsters, while Advanced drop from bosses. Superior Potential Slot Carvers can be found in the Gachapon.
  • Silver and Gold Potential Slot Carvers have a chance to unlock a second line of Bonus Potential. Silver and Golden Potential Slot Carvers are only currently available through Cash Shop special promotions.
  • Bonus Potential can be reset with Carved Miracle Cubes, only available in the Cash Shop. Carved Miracle Cubes do not affect regular Potential.

Warrior Revamp

Explorer Warrior

  • Power Strike: At Master Level: Damage increased from 280% to 300%.
  • Slash Blast: At Master Level: Damage increased from 220% to 260%.
  • Slipstream: At Master Level: Post-delay reduced from 1.5 sec to 0.6 sec.
  • Power Stance: At Master Level: Stance chance increased from 95% to 100%.
  • Rush: At Master Level: Damage increased from 300% to 500%.
  • Monster Magnet: Skill added to Paladin: Minimal monsters pulled increased from 1 to 3.

Fighter

  • Rage: At Master Level: Duration increased from 155 sec to 180 sec. Can stack with other ATT increase buffs.
  • MOVED SKILL: Brandish: Moved from 3rd job skill: At Master Level: Damage reduced from 560% to 420%, Enemy DEF ignore removed.
    Crusader.

Crusader

  • >Self Recovery: At Master Level: HP recovery increased from 100 HP restored every 4 sec to 400 HP restored every 4 sec.
  • MOVED SKILL: Intrepid Slash: Master level changed from level 30 to 20: Moved from 4th job skill: At Master Level: MP cost reduced from 24 to 19, Damage reduced from 560% to 420%.
  • NEW SKILL: Endure: At Master Level: Abnormal status resistance +20%. Master Level: 20.

Hero

  • Enrage: Buff dispel ignore effect added.
  • Combat Mastery: At Master Level: Enemy DEF ignored increased from 40% to 50%.
  • NEW SKILL: Raging Blow: At Master Level: Damage 220%, Max Enemies Hit: 6, Number of Attacks: 5, Critical Hit on final attack. Master Level: 30. Requires Mastery Book.

White Knight

  • Shield Mastery: At Mastery Level: Guard chance increased from 10% to 20%.
  • Lightning Charge: When used multiple times, damage boost not reduced.

Paladin

  • Divine Shield: Protective shield now active for the duration: At Master Level: Shield activation rate increased from 30% to 50%.
  • Advanced Charge: Chance to stun enemies when using Charge Blow: Instant kill chance: At Master Level: Damage increased from 370% to 400%, Max instant kill chance: 10%.
  • Heaven’s Hammer: Changed to multi hit skill: At Master Level: Damage changed from 1700% to 425%, Number of Attacks: 4.
  • Blast: At Master Level: Damage changed from 260% to 200%, Number of attacks changed from 4 to 6.

Dragon Knight

  • Dragon Buster: At Master Level: Damage increased from 200% to 220%.
  • Dragon Fury: At master Level: Damage increased from 450% to 550%.
  • Sacrifice: At Master Level: Damage decreased from 400% to 220%, Number of attacks increased from 2 to 4.
  • NEW SKILL: Endure: At Master Level: Abnormal status resistance +20%. Master Level: 20.

Dark Knight

  • Dark Impale: At Master Level: Damage increased from 180% to 200%.
  • Hex of the Beholder: At Master Level: Counterattack standby time reduced from 10 sec to 8 sec.
  • Aura of the Beholden: At Master Level: HP recovery amount increased from 500 to 600.
  • Hex of the Beholden: ATT/DEF/MDEF/Accuracy/Avoidability buffs are applied at the same time.

Dawn Warrior

  • Soul Blade (2nd job): At Master Level: Damage reduced from 370% to 360%.
  • Rage (2nd job): At Master Level: Duration increased from 155 sec to 180 sec, Can stack with other ATT increase buffs.
  • Soul Rush (2nd job): At Master Level: Travel distance increased from 550 to 650, Post-delay reduced from 1.5 sec to 0.6 sec.
  • Self Recovery (3rd job): At Master Level: HP recovery increased from 100 HP restored every 4 sec to 200 HP restored every 4 sec.
  • Soul Charge (3rd job): Renamed “Radiant Charge”: Holy attribute removed: At Master Level: Damage increased reduced from +130% to +30%.
  • MOVED SKILL: Brandish (2nd job): Moved from 3rd job skill: At Master Level: Damage reduced from 560% to 420%, Enemy DEF ignore removed.
  • NEW SKILL: Intrepid Slash (3rd job): At Master Level: Damage 240%, Max Enemies Hit: 4, Number of Attacks: 3. Master Level: 20.

Magician Revamp

Explorer Magician

  • Magic Claw: At Master Level: Damage increased from 120% to 130%, Max enemies hit increased from 2 to 4.
  • Infinity: Buff dispel ignore effect added.
  • Arcane Aim: ATT increase effect accumulated & applied to all monsters when attacking monsters.

Wizard (Fire/Poison)

  • Poison Breath: At Master Level: DoT damage increased from 60% to 80%.
  • Meditation: Can stack with other M. ATT increase buffs.

Mage (Fire/Poison)

  • Burning Magic: At Master Level: Damage boost increased from +10% to +20%.

Arch Mage (Fire/Poison)

  • Paralyze: At Master Level: Damage reduced from 240% to 200%, Number of attacks increased from 4 to 6, DoT damage increased from 140% to 180%.
  • Mist Eruption: At Master Level: Damage reduced from 460% to 345%, Number of attacks increased from 6 to 8.
  • Big Bang: At Master Level: DoT damage increased from 110% to 140%.
  • Meteor Shower: At Master Level: Cooldown reduced from 30 sec to 20 sec.

Wizard (Ice/Lightning)

  • Meditation: Can stack with other M. Att increase buffs.

Mage (Ice/Lightning)

  • Storm Magic: At Master Level: Damage boost increased from +10% to +20%.

Arch Mage (Ice/Lightning)

  • Blizzard: At Master Level: Cooldown reduced from 30 sec to 20 sec.

Cleric

  • Holy Arrow: Max enemies hit increased from 3 to 4.
  • Invincible: At Master Level: Damage reduction increased from 20% to 25%.

Priest

  • Shining Ray: At Master Level: Damage increased from 220% to 240%.
  • Holy Focus: At Master Level: Magic mastery increased from +65% to +70%.

Bishop

  • Genesis: At Master Level: Cooldown reduced from 30 sec to 20 sec.
  • Angel Ray: At Master Level: Damage reduced from 420% to 375%, Number of attacks increased from 3 to 4, Max enemies increased from 3 to 4.

Blaze Wizard

  • Magic Claw (1st job): At Master Level: Damage increased from 120% to 130%, Max enemies hit increased from 2 to 4.
  • Fire Pillar (2nd job): At Master Level: Damage increased from 350% to 400%.
  • Meditation (2nd job): Can stack with other M. ATT increase buffs.
  • Flame Gear (3rd job): At Master Level: Dot damage increased from 100% to 140%.
  • Fire Strike (3rd job): At Master Level: Damage increased from 210% to 230%.

Bowman Revamp

Explorer Archer

  • Arrow Blow: At Master Level – Total damage for each mob will be increased from 220% to 260%.

Hunter

  • Arrow Bomb: At Master Level – Total damage for each mob will be increased from 360% to 380%.

Ranger

  • Concentrate: At Master Level – The players ATT will be increased by from 20 for 180 seconds to 30 for 180 seconds.
  • Strafe: At Master Level – Total damage for each mob will be increased from 800% to 840%.

Bow Master

  • Hurricane: At Master Level – Total damage for each mob will be increased from 250% to 260%.
  • Spirit Link: Phoenix – At Master Level: The skill is now a passive skill, the skill is now active even when not summoned.

Crossbowman

  • Iron Arrow: At Master Level – Total damage for each mob will be increased from 360% to 380%.

Sniper

  • Concentrate: At Master Level – The players ATT will be increased by from 20 for 180 seconds to 30 for 180 seconds.
  • Strafe: At Master Level – Total damage for each mob will be increased from 800% to 840%.
  • Dragon’s Breath: At Master Level – Total damage for each mob will be increased from 350% to 560%.

Marksman

  • Piercing Arrow: At Master Level – The number of attacks has been raised to 6 instead of 3. The damage percentage stays the same at 1560%.
  • Ultimate Strafe: At Master Level – The number of attacks has been raised to 8 instead of 6. The damage percentage has been raised from 1620% to 1640%.
  • Spirit Link: Frostprey: At Master Level – The skill is now a passive skill, the skill is now active even when not summoned.

Wind Archer

  • Double Shot (1st Job): At Master Level – Total damage for each mob will be increased from 300% to 310%.
  • Storm Spike (2nd Job): At Master Level – Total damage for each mob will be increased from 310% to 380%.
  • Concentrate (3rd Job): At Master Level – The players ATT will be increased by from 20 for 180 seconds to 30 for 180 seconds.
  • Hurricane (3rd Job): At Master Level – Total damage for each mob will be increased from 190% to 200%.

Legends Revamp

Cannoneer

  • Scatter Shot (2nd Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 440% from 360%.
  • Barrel Bomb (2nd Job): At master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 450% from 370%.
  • Cannon Spike (3rd Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 720% from 510%.
  • Monkey Wave (3rd Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 860% from 760%.
  • Cannon Bazooka (4th Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 2000% from 1200%, the number of attacks per mob has been raised to 4 instead of 2, the speed has been increased to 1.11 seconds per attack compared to 1.44 seconds.
  • Anchors Away (4th Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 400% from 300%, when the Anchor explodes the damage has been increased to 520% instead of 420%.
  • Cannon Barrage (4th Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 1425% from 1600%, the attack speed has been raised to one attack every .81 seconds compared to .99 seconds.

Mercedes

  • Parting Shot (2nd Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 240% from 280%.
  • Stunning Strikes (3rd Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 480% from 460%, the number of mobs attacked has been raised to 5 instead of 4.
  • Aerial Barrage (3rd Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 660% from 600%.
  • The issue where Final Attack (4th Job) did not activate if mobs aggro was directed towards another player has been fixed.
  • Spike Royale (4th Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 1080% from 1040%.
  • Lighting Edge (4th Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 1560% from 1215%.
  • Rolling Moonsaul (4th Job)t: At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 1080% from 1020%.

Demon Slayer

  • Demon Lash (2nd Job): The Demon Lash enhancement is now 30% instead of 20%.
    • 1st and 2nd hit damage is at 130% from 120%.
    • 3rd and 4th hit damage is at 117% compared to 108%.
  • Soul Eater (2nd Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 480% compared to 400%.
  • Demon Lash (3rd Job): The Demon Lash enhancement is now 100% instead of 80%.
    • 1st and 2nd hit damage is at 180% from 200%.
    • 3rd and 4th hit damage is at 180% compared to 162%.
  • Judgment (3rd Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 800% compared to 600%.
  • Carrion Breath (3rd Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 620% compared to 560%.
  • Demon Lash (4th Job): The Demon Lash enhancement is now 220% instead of 200%.
    • 1st and 2nd hit damage is at 320% from 300%.
    • 3rd and 4th hit damage is at 270% compared to 288%.
  • Leech Aura (4th Job): At Master Level – The HP reabsorption cooldown is 30 seconds between reabsorption instead of 60 seconds.
  • Infernal Concussion (4th Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 1460% from 1340%.
  • Demon Impact (4th Job): At Master Level – Damage has been increased per mob to 1500% from 1200%, the number of mobs attacked is now 4 instead of 3 and the attack speed has been raised to one attack every 1.2 seconds compared to one attack every 1.47 seconds.

Gachapon Revamp

  • The Gachapon systems have undergone extensive renovations! All of the rewards from the Chair, Mount, Nebulite and regular Gachapon have been merged into one single machine: The Great Gachapierrot.
  • When you play the new Gachapierrot, you have a chance to receive a reward from any of the four previously separate lists.
  • Most equips under level 70 and all D-Grade Nebulites have been removed from the Gachapon, as well as various other unpopular items.
  • Different towns no longer give separate rewards. ALL Gachapierrot machines pull from the same rewards pool.
  • Nebulite and Mount Gachapon Tickets can be traded in to the Gachapierrot for Gachapon Tickets, and have been permanently removed from the Cash Shop.
  • Chair Gachapon Tickets can still be double-clicked to receive chairs from the old Chair Gachapon, but has been permanently removed from the Cash Shop.
  • Remote Gachapon Tickets can still be used anywhere to access the Gachapierrot.
  • When you talk to The Great Gachapierrot to use a Gachapon Ticket, or use a Remote Gachapon Ticket from anywhere, the new Gachapon window will appear.
  • A list of special items is displayed in the center of the window, as well as the current ticket you are using.
  • You can click Start, or hit Enter, to use a ticket.
  • A list of the last 10 items you won from the Gachapon will be displayed in the right-hand side of the window.
  • The Maple Administrator offers a new one-time quest, called Gachapon Reborn, to explain about the changes to the Gachapons.
  • The Maple Administrator offers a new repeatable quest, called Getcha Powergacha, which rewards a Powergacha Ticket for every 20 uses of a Gachapon Ticket.
  • The Powergacha Ticket has a much higher chance of getting a better item from the Gachapierrot.

Misc Changes

Gallant Emblems

  • Gallant Emblems no longer drop from monsters.

Monster HP Bar

  • Damage that users inflict on monsters will be in red to show the HP reduction to make it easier to recognize.

Spiegelmann’s Gonzo Gallery rewards

  • Whenever you clear each theme dungeon, you’ll obtain Spiegelmann’s Jewelry Box. Rewards obtained from this have been enhanced.
  • Players will now be able to obtain an improved version of Spiegelmann’s Jeweled Epaulette from the box.

Storage Expansion

  • Max number of storage slots has been increased from 48 to 96.

Orbis Tower Revamp

  • The Black Mage has destroyed Orbis Tower Floors 9 through 15.
  • Orbis Magic Spots have been added to floors 1, 8, 16 and 20, and allow you to teleport to any of those floors for a fee of 5,000 mesos.
  • Floors 1-8 and 16-20 can be moved through normally, but Orbis Magic Spots are the only way to directly move from 8 to 16 or back.
  • NPC Huckle has been moved to floor 16.
  • A Mystic Gate has been added to floor 16.
