MapleStory Mechanic Skill Build Guide V1

* Attention: Click here for the latest MapleStory Mechanic Guide *

MapleStory Mechanics are the 3rd addition of Resistance, representing Pirate branch. Their main town is, just like Battle Mage and Wild Hunter, the Black Wing territory in Edelstein. Mechanics uses Guns as their primary weapon of choice, but they do not use the guns directly. Instead, they are tools used for your mech suit, which you gain as you advance as a Mechanic. Mechanics have fast-paced combat advantages, including a Siege Mode that delivers rapid-fire attacks, simultaneous attacking and healing capabilities and the ability to navigate more efficiently through maps. They also have high defense when in their minion robots and their attacks don’t use up bullets.

Mechanic Notes

A quest called Secret Mech Ability is unlocked at level 15 which allows Mechanics to change the color of their Mech Prototype. Checky (Mechanic NPC Instructor) explains that he has created a new gizmo (Mech Disguise Swap Chip) that enhances Mech Suit but requires funding of 1 million meso. Once you purchase that gadget from Checky, you will be able to change your Mech’s color (1 of 4 color) and also receive a passive beginner skill called Hidden Piece (Damage +10%, MaxHP +10%, MaxMP +10%). You get to choose your Mech’s color for the first time (first 4 on the color palette list). The next time you want to change color, you will be given a random color: Turquoise, Red / Blue / Basic / Green / Lime / Pink / Purple / Yellow / Orange.

Warning:

You will not be able to see any mech color should your current graphic card has no support for Pixel Shader 2.0. The only way to fix this is to purchase and install a new graphic card that supports Pixel Shader 2.0. Download GPU-Z from Tech Power Up to check whether your current graphic card is able to support Pixel Shader 2.0. Once you have the GPU-Z app downloaded and running, look for DirectX Support Listing within Graphic Card Tab. If it lists SM2.0 or higher, it means your graphic card supports Pixel Shader 2.0 which allows you to see the custom Mecha Color Palette.

    @Mastel

the siege mode 2 skill doesnt exist anymore since mech has no cooldown and putting one point in the tank increases siege mode by 30% (if you are in the tank)

my question (kinda the same as prototypew): what cards increase the bot duration? seems kinda odd that mech has 15% buff on rank S when they only have 2 buffs with duration? because bots count as summons not as buffs right?

  7. PrototypeW

Hey AyumiLove, does the captain’s [summon duration increase] character card work on the distortion bomb?

  8. Mastel

I didn’t saw any Mech: Siege Mode 2 of 4th job in MSEA of FLY. is the skill need to be Unlock?

  9. Mastel

MSEA is having FLY Patch, and I Noticed that your 4th Job Mechanic Build is missing [Mech:Seige Mode 2] When do we Learn that skill?
and How do it work? do it use afer in Seige Mode?
and is Hover Mode Auto use?
If it Manual do we use when we Seige Mode or Before?

    Thanks for Reading..

    Hi AyumiLove,

I checked my netbook and I’ve got Pixel Shader 3.0 and I can’t see the colour of my mechanic, Can you please tell me why? 🙁

  13. Timmy

This stuff is legit stuff ty

  14. Ayumilove

Hi SomeGuy, currently Healing Robot H-LX only heals yourself and not party members. Maybe its error on MapleStory developer part in describing how the skill works. Once the Healing Robot is deployed on the field, you need to PRESS DOWN (lying on the floor). Therefore, you can’t perform any skill attack while healing. In fourth job your tank becomes your main way of training, when you’re on boss runs/at LHC, you cast healing bot hold down and spam your regular attack, it cuts down on HP potions by A LOT.

  15. SomeGuy

Hi Ayumilove, I am new to mechanic class and just reached level 90. I already add my healing bot to LV9. I don’t understand how it works. It says that it will heals nearby party members. Does it actually includes myself? Cause I tried using for my own and it does’nt regenerate by HP!

  16. Ayumilove

Hi Jackie, if the Mecha is using a custom palette color and the person does not have external graphic card, they will see your mecha as invisible as if you are sitting on top of an invisible robot or large chair.

  17. Jackie

Do other people see you invisible too or it is just you?

  18. Ryokoshii

Man I wish they gave a buff to tank mode but nope 😛

  19. Ayumilove

@Jing Onn Wong: Sorry for the late reply! Yeah, comparing to other class Active Hyper Skill, it does feel weaker. However, its lack of raw damage is compensated with short cooldown rate, you can spam it every 4 seconds (8 seconds cooldown – 4 second summon/active). Best used for 1v1 against bosses as an extra damage to your primary attacking skill.

  20. Ayumilove

@jonathan: Sorry for the late reply. If you found your mecha suit is invisible after applying the free Mechanic Color Palette (Turquoise, Red, Blue, Basic, Green, Lime, Pink, Purple, Yellow, Orange) it means that your computer does not have/does not support Pixel Shader 2.0 which is the minimum Pixel Shader version requirement required to be able to see the Mechanic color changes. Easiest way is to purchase a new current generation graphic card and install it in your computer. Most entry-level graphic card 2013 supports Pixel Shader 2.0 and above.

  21. jonathan

im playing and im only lvl 16 bbut is there a way to not be invisible?

  22. Jing Onn Wong

Hi Ayumi, why distortion bomb looks so weak and has a short duration?

  23. Ayumilove

Hi Lee Shao Wei, I have replied to your older comment 🙂

  24. Ayumilove

Hi Lee Shao Wei, I think its a hidden skill that will be automatically improve 3rd Job Siege Tank upon reaching 4th Job Mechanic. Some says its merely a variant of the Seige Mode I, which is for your 4th Job’s Missile Tank Siege Mode.

  25. Lee Shao Wei

Why is there no« Mech : siege mode 2 » in MSEA ?

  26. Ayumilove

Hi Sam, use regular attack button during seige mode. The attack you use as a Beginner to kill snails with a sword.

  27. Sam

mechanic mech siege mode do it have cool down time how active time? i playing GMS lvl 1 i could not off or do anything

  28. Ayumilove

Hi demonluck, I have added Mechanic Hyper Skills. Thanks for the notice! 🙂

  29. demonluck

why no hyper skill infor on Mechanic t will be nice if u add some hyper infor of plp who do not know what the skill do and what lvl u need to be on to get then but keep up the good work 🙂 i use your guide all the time when a new chr come out it help me out a lot

  30. Ayumilove

Hi Chai Zhi Gang, Mechanic is a nice job which you can play since most of the skills are high in damage. But bear in mind, its mobility skills are not that great except for launching yourself up to a higher platform 😀

  31. Ayumilove

Hi Coldmiller21, I think is still quite useful as each enemy attacked gets hit 4 times. Previously level 1 would be 507% damage, but now 123% damage x 4 hits = 492% damage. Level 20: 180% damage x 4 = 720% damage instead of 680% damage.

  32. Ayumilove

Hi coldmiller21, I have updated Mechanic 3rd Job Skill Punch Launcher Details 🙂

  33. Ayumilove

Hi Sean, are you playing in GMS, EMS, MSEA or something else? GMS currently have Overclock Skill (Mechanic 3rd Job)

  34. coldmiller21

Looks like it goes to a max of 180% soo idk its still useful but not as much, sadly

  35. coldmiller21

Hi Muhammad Zulhusni, its not necessary to max rocket booster if you found there are other skills which, to you, feel much more useful/helpful to be max. Higher level rocket booster decreases the MP usage, which is very helpful for Mechanics if they tend to use it to cycle the entire map which consists of multiple platforms. I used Rocket Booster to get up to a platform without finding a rope to climb up, similarly to Kaiser’s Hook Climbing, with a catch, upon landing, it deals damage to the surrounding enemies!

  39. Muhammad Zulhusni

still we do i have to max rocket booster? isn’t it for climbing skill only?

  40. Ayumilove

Hi Muhammad Zulhusni, I have corrected the 2nd job description. Thanks for the notice!

  41. Muhammad Zulhusni

Ayumilove, at 2nd job the description u write at ‘Mechanic 3rd job’? not 2nd job?

  42. Ayumilove

Hi coldmiller21, I have added 4th Job Skill Information for Mechanic 🙂

  43. coldmiller21

Only thing missing is 4th job information :3

  44. Ayumilove

Thanks SpiralFaded, I have updated the 3rd Job Skill Build description along with the 4th Job Skill Build 🙂

  45. Ayumilove

Hi Potato, I have revamped the 2nd Job Skill Build guide. If you do not use Gatling Gun and Flame Launcher much, you can place lesser priority on Heavy Weapon Mastery, which means the SP from Heavy Weapon Mastery is channeled into maxing other skills except for itself.

  46. Ayumilove

Hi Potato, for the 2nd Job, you can use the remaining Skill Points into Open Portal Skill or Rocket Booster depending on your play style. Both are use to move to different parts of the map. You could have 1 SP into Rocket Booster and the remaining are dump into Open Portal for longer duration.

  47. Potato

on the second job skill build you dont say anything about the open portal skill!
    please help!

  48. SpiralFaded
