Evan primary attacking skill for 2nd job will be a mix of Evan’s and Mir’s combined attack also known as fusion skill. The optimized setup for training is to have the skills in the following sequence: Mana Burst, Dragon Flash and Wind Circle. How to activate fusion skill? Magic Debris is a skill not recommended to be used during training unless the damage of this skill inflicted to the enemies can defeat it in 1 hit. Reason being, provoking enemies with Magic Debris will cause more trouble as enemies with range attack will start hitting and knockbacking you when you reach to its platfrom via ladder/rope. As a result, you will lose a lot of HP and MP potion (Magic Guard activated to absorbed damage) when training for long periods of time.

It’s recommended not to use Magic Debris in any skill slot while training or bossing.

Use Dragon Breath, Earth Circle and finally followed by Return to leave a trail of flame from Return Flame skill. This skill should only used against enemies that are non range attackers or if you are able to 1~2 Hit KO enemies with Return Flame. MapleStory M game mechanic is slightly different than the traditional MapleStory where provoking multiple monsters will get you hit multiple times instead of getting hit once and gaining 1 sec invincibility duration. This concept same applies to all other fusion large AOE attack skills. Try not to provoke enemies unless you are confident that you can always defeat the enemies quickly before they can overwhelm you. Otherwise, just stick with your most powerful primary attacking skills to eliminate them and save your HP and MP potions. Avoid using Dark Fog as the casting time is painfully slow. Begin maxing Dragon Fury, Dragon Breath and Magic Mastery skills early on to improve your Evan and Mir damage.

I realized that Critical Magic isnt on the Evan Job list 3, is that on purpose? Should I max it?
@Potato: Hi, the order for Hyper Skills in the Hyper Skill Build guide does not matter, just a reference to what skills needs to be maxed. You can upgrade the skill that you used most often first followed by the ones that you least use. If you often do bossing, you can have “Dragon Dive – Cooldown Reduction” maxed first. If you often train with Dragon Breath, you could max the “Dragon Breath – Cooldown Reduction” first so you can wait less and do more fire stream of flames around the map.

Hi, I am curious why the first hyper skill to level up is Rolling Thunder – Extra Strike instead of the Dragon Breath – Cooldown Reduction or Dragon Dive – Cooldown Reduction.
Currently a lv 126 evan, since i hit lv 100 i dont really use rolling thunder anymore. Or isit actually im playing evan wrongly? and i should use more rolling thunder??

@Wan: The reason Dragon Breath is leveled up first is because it will also raised the other 3 passive skills level (Wind Breath, Earth Breath and Return Flame). This helps alot if these passive skills are used in training which I have shown in the video above. Mana Burst can be leveled up once the main passive damage boosting skills are done including the Dragon Breath. Based on my experience playing unfunded, monsters within the same range or 10+ levels, will usually require 2~3 hits from Mana Burst. Using Mana Burst alone is not effective since you are not utilizing Mir (your partner’s) capabilities that helps clear up tons of mobs in a large area. Therefore, most of the time you will be mixing 2 attacks (1 from Mir + 1 from Evan) to knock an enemy. However, this will be different if you are playing as a funded character (e.g. max leveled Mythic staff/wand for Evan) can 1 hit KO enemy with level 1 Mana Burst 4 when enemies are within the same level or 10 levels above. In short, focus on skills that can help clear lots of mobs fast as that will help you maximize the EXP gained per minute.
For 4th job skills you said use Dragon Breath, Earth Circle, and Return.
Do we need to level Mana Burst 4 at all or just wait for last skill to level up? Or does it have any benefits to those 3 skills by leveling Mana Burst?
