MapleStory Dawn Warrior aka Soul Master Skill Build Guide V1

* Attention: Click here for the latest MapleStory Dawn Warrior Guide *

MapleStory Dawn Warrior (Soul Master) is a Cygnus Knight Warrior Class who specializes in both 1 handed and 2 handed swords. They are still able to wield other warrior weapons such as Polearm, Spear, Axe, Blunt Weapons but will deal unstable damage due to lack of Weapon Mastery in those fields. Primary Stat is STR (Strength), therefore, channel all of your AP (Ability Points) into STR using the Auto AP Distribution. DEX (Dexterity) isn’t required for accuracy since if you are same or higher level than the monster, you will be able to hit it them frequently with success. They reach 1st job at level 10, 2nd job at level 30 and 3rd job at level 70. [NOTE] MapleSEA refer this class as Soul Master whereas GMS (Global MapleStory) refers this as Dawn Warrior.

Dawn Warrior 1st Job Skill Build: Everything maxed but except Power Strike.
1. Add 1 SP into Power Strike, Slash Blast and Soul.
2. Max Slash Blast, Soul, Iron Body and HP Boost.
3. Dump remaining SP into Power Strike.

Explanation:
Add 1 SP (Skill Point) into Power Strike to unlock Slash Blast. Slash Blast will be your primary attacking skill as a 1st Job Dawn Warrior. Use it against mobs of monsters populated in tight corner or platform to maximize the leveling effectiveness. Power Strike will not be required to be maxed since it will be replaced with a better offensive skill in 2nd job advancement. After maxing Slash Blast, continue with maxing Soul to help you in 1 hit kill weaker enemies or dealing extra damage to higher level monsters. Iron Body and HP Boost does not help much in training at this job but would be helpful when you reach higher levels. HP Boost decreases the risk of dying easily when dealing with boss powerful attacks whereas Iron Body save some HP (Health Points) when you bump into monsters.

Physical Training Physical Training (Passive)
Permanently increases STR (Strength) and DEX (Dexterity).
LV1: +3 STR, +3 DEX.
LV10: +30 STR, +30 DEX.

Dawn Warrior 2nd Job Skill Build: Everything maxed except Brandish and Soul Blade.
1. Add 1 SP into Soul Blade, Soul Rush and Rage.
2. Max Sword Mastery, Physical Training and Rage.
3. Max Soul Rush, Sword Booster and Final Attack.
4. Max Power Reflection.
5. No SP added into Brandish.

Explanation:
Soul Blade is much more flexible compared to Brandish since it can hit multiple enemies located on different platform close and far away from you. Therefore, add 1 SP into Soul Blade instead of Brandish. You could add 1 SP into Brandish to try it out but you will need to remove 1 SP from another supportive skill (e.g. Sword Booster). Max Sword Mastery to raise your minimum damage so you will hit a more stable damage. This is followed by Physical Training which will raise your STR and DEX. With some dexterity, you will be able to have some accuracy to accurately hit monsters above your level and finally max Rage to temporarily boost your min and max damage while training. This guide does not max any offensive skills since it will soon to be replaced with 3rd job advancement skills. Most monsters below level 60 can be 1 hit KO using Level 1 Soul Blade with all 3 damage boosting skills (Rage, Sword Mastery and Physical Training) maxed. Since we have offensive skills covered in 3rd job, it would be wise to channel those unused SP (Skill Points) into 2nd job supportive skills.

Dawn Warrior 3rd Job Skills

MapleStory Soul Driver Soul Driver (Active)
[REQUIRE] Complete Level 90 Job Quest to unlock this skill.
Attack multiple enemies 4 times with swords shooting upwards from the ground.

MapleStory Intrepid Slash Intrepid Slash (Active)

LV1: 15 MP, 202% Damage.
LV20: 19 MP, 240% Damage.

MapleStory Combo Attack Combo Attack (Supportive)
Temporarily allows you to accumulate an orb with each attack. Each orbs raises total damage. Activate Coma or Panic skill by consuming the orbs generated by Combo Attack.
LV1: 20 MP, Accumulate max 3 orbs. +1% Damage per orb. Lasts 100 sec.
LV20: 32 MP, Accumulate max 5 orbs. +5% Damage per orb. Lasts 200 sec.

MapleStory Advanced Combo Advanced Combo (Passive)
[REQUIRE] Max Combo Attack + Complete Level 100 Job Quest to unlock this skill.
Permanently increases total damage per orb and raises the maximum orb capacity. Also has a chance to generate 2 orbs per attack instead of 1 orb.
LV1: +5% Damage per orb. 5 Max Orb. 22% chance to generate 2 orbs.
LV20: +10% Damage per orb. 10 Max Orb. 60% chance to generate 2 orbs.

MapleStory Panic Panic (Active)
[REQUIRE] LV1 Combo Attack.
Attack 6 enemies 1 time by consuming 2 orbs to inflict high damage against enemy while temporarily reducing their total damage and accuracy with blind effect. This skill has cooldown.
LV1: 10 MP, 850% Damage, -11% Enemy Damage, 33% chance to -11% Accuracy. Cooldown 60 sec.
LV20: 20 MP, 1040% Damage, -30% Enemy Damage, 90% chance to -20% Accuracy. Cooldown 30 sec.

MapleStory Self Recovery Self Recovery (Passive)
Permanently recovers HP and MP every 4 seconds while idling or combat.
LV1: +10 HP and +3 MP.
LV20: +200 HP and +60 MP.

MapleStory Radiant Charge Radiant Charge (Active)
Temporarily increase total damage.
LV1: 25 MP, +12% Damage for 30 sec.
LV10: 40 MP, +30% Damage for 300 sec.

MapleStory Magic Crash Magic Crash (Active)
[REQUIRE] LV3 Radiant Charge.
Cancel all enemy buffs and prevent them from casting new buffs.
LV1: 15 MP, Block enemy rebuff for 20 sec. Cooldown 1 minute.

Dawn Warrior 3rd Job Skill Build: Everything maxed.
1. Add 1 SP into Intrepid Slash.
2. Max Radiant Charge and Combo Attack.
3. Add 10 SP into Self Recovery.
4. Save remaining SP until you reach level 90 and max Soul Driver.
5. Max Self Recovery.
6. Save remaining SP until you reach level 100 and max Advanced Combo.
7. Max Intrepid Slash, Coma, Panic and Magic Crash.

Explanation:
Intrepid Slash will be your primary attacking skill for 3rd job until you unlock Soul Driver at level 90. Soul Driver is a much efficient skill in eliminating multiple mobs and best with 1 hit KO. Currently, you will only need to add 1 SP into Intrepid Slash first to use for leveling. Max out Radiant Charge and Combo Attack. Add 10 SP into Self Recovery and save remaining SP for Soul Driver. Self Recovery is very helpful especially when it comes to replenishing your MP after you use Soul Rush for travelling wide large maps. After reaching level 90, max Soul Driver followed by Self Recovery and save SP again for Advanced Combo Attack which will be unlocked at level 100. Max Advanced Combo Attack and the rest of the skills in your preference. I don’t use Panic or Coma much during training, mostly spamming Soul Driver against bosses and mobs.

Hi Aaron, probably the medal is gone for good. Perhaps you can make another KOC character. Personally, I don’t really care of these medals since I could replace with better stats ones like Chaos Horntail Pendant.

  2. Ayumilove

Hi KaldurKnight, you do not need to remake them. The only thing it changes is the skills. Also, your skills will be auto SP reset OR they will give you an epic SP reset scroll that resets all stats, either one of them. Also, they might give one for AP reset too since they have change the stat system where one stat will be sufficient for all your equipment requirement.

Hi Randy, I think you should looki at this guide ayumilove.net/maplestory-dawn-warrior-skill-build-guide/ It contains the latest skill changes for Cygnus Awakening.

  4. Randy

A new patch came out as of september 12 and the skills are different!?

  5. KaldurKnight

Just wondering, and if anyone knows, please answer. If we create a Cygnus and when they are revamped, will we have to remake them, or will they just pass on over to the revamp with the new skills and level cap?

  6. Ayumilove

Hi Aaron, you could create another new character 🙂 Otherwise, don’t need to worry about it since there are other higher-level medals that provide better stats.

  7. Aaron

Hi there , in conjunction with the Return Of Cygnus patch msea is having a event , and all KOC characters receives a medal at level 15. I mistakenly dropped the medal while clearing out my inventory for my dawn warrior and i can’t find the medal anywhere in the medals tab so i can’t reissue it . Is there anything i can do?

Hi Blazeman22, Final Attack deals regular/basic attack multiplied with the damage boost from Final Attack while ignoring its skill delay. It does not repeat the skill you use to attack the enemy. However, it depends on what type of skill you have used (either: 1-hit or multiple-hit monsters). For example, if you use Power Strike on an enemy, Final Attack only affects 1 enemy whereas Slash Blast damages multiple enemies, Final Attack applies the same. In short, the number of enemies affected by the first attack will be affected by Final Attack.

  9. Blazeman22

does final attack’s effect apply to abilities too or just basic attacks?

  10. Ayumilove

Hi Blazeman22, Sword Booster is pretty useful when it comes to hack-n-slash the same enemy multiple times especially Boss. If you can perform 1-hit-KO, its not that useful 🙂 Some pro Maplers would increase their damage as high as possible to perform 1 hit KO so they can have their SP (Skill Points) distributed in other skill apart (meaning do not pump up Sword Booster early).

  11. Blazeman22

    lol i mean sword booster

  12. Blazeman22

um is soul booster all that helpful? i am just wondering

  13. Chang

    Thanks a lot !!!!! U help me a lot 😀

  14. Ayumilove

    You’re welcome HeroOfLove 🙂

  15. HeroOfLove

Thanks a bunch for this guide! Its a huge help! 🙂

  16. Amigo

Thanks! … but if i add 1 sp to brandish, another skill wouldn’t be maxed.

  17. Ayumilove

Hi Amigo, yes you can add Brandish if you want to test out the skill, the guide above is a reference for you to produce the perfect Dawn Warrior (optimized skill build). Personally I have added SP into Brandish but while training or solo-ing, I used Soul Blade more often than Brandish because its much more convenient. Soul Blade has longer range and able to hit multiple monsters even though each of them are far apart from each other! This makes training much more efficient.

  18. Amigo

Ayumi can i atleast add 1 sp to Brandish or 2 sp?

  19. Ayumilove

Hi Cygno, check this out ayumilove.net/maplestory-dawn-warrior-skill-build-guide/

  20. Cygno

    Whr is soulmaster r2013?

  21. Alec

    Oops cygnus knights edition

  22. Ayumilove

Hi Alec, which MapleStory version are you playing? GMS, KMS, JMS or MSEA? When I checked, Soul Blade does not require Brandish Level 10.

  23. Alec

Im level 32 so i just got my job advancement and it says soul blade requirs brandish level 10, could u please up date it?

  24. Ayumilove

Hi Ryuu Izumi, I did not count how much damage my Soul Driver hits, if it can 1 hit KO the enemies, its good enough for me 🙂

  25. Ryuu Izumi

how much damage do you hit? ive been stuck only hitting 200k average with soul driver

  26. Ayumilove

Thanks Oscar Martinez for your correction! I have updated the guide again.

  27. Oscar Martinez

But honestly, dude. I’m in no way trying to take your position here. again. it’s just a suggestion. and again. Thanks a bunch for taking your time on your guide. helped out tons.

  28. Oscar Martinez

    _- DOH!
    lol. i meant DEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    You had Main stat: STR
    Secondary stat: DEX
    thanks for updating so quick!(:
oh. and 1more thing i noticed. not trying to sound like a douche or anything; telling you how to fix your guide… but 1 more suggestion…
You get Soul Driver at 90, and Advanced Combo at 100.
    so my suggestion would be:
    1) +1 Intrepid Slash, +2 Radiant Charge
    2) Max Radiant Charge
    3) Max Combo & save SP for Soul Driver at 90
    4) Max Soul Driver
    5) Max HP recovery & save SP for Advanced Combo
    6) Max Advanced Combo at 100
    7) Dump all sp left into Coma or Panic. whatever skill you like best

  29. Ayumilove

Hi RaikaZero and Oscar Martinez, Dawn Warrior skill build guide is now updated. What do you mean by Warriors don’t need EXP?

  30. Oscar Martinez

    hey. you should update this.
    Brandish is now 2nd job.
and ever since Big Bang, Warriors don’t need EXP.

  31. RaikaZero

Needs update 3rd job is no longer Brandish.

  32. Ayumilove

@Bmxxx619: You could leave Soul Blade at Level 1. However, training will be very slow unless you have the determination to see yourself reaching 3rd Job using 1st Job Skills as primary.

  33. bmxxx619

as for 2nd job, can i just cap soul blade at lv1 and max up rest of the skill? advice needed. thank you
