The Battle Mage (also known as BaM) is a member of the Resistance that condenses magical power and uses it for strength and protection. Unlike other Magician classes, the Battle Mage specializes in fast, close-range combat that overpowers foes. The Battle Mage uses staffs to decimate multiple enemies with flashy attack spells and casts auras to aid the party a character is in. The Battle Mage is unique amongst Magicians as it is primarily a melee combat character. Using his staff to beat back the Black Wings, the Battle Mage will be the first into danger, placing himself between his teammates and the forces of darkness. He also has Aura abilities, which allow him to buff himself and his friends in combat.

Battle Mage Pros and Cons
Pros
- Hp is the highest among the other class except warrior type.
- High Weapon and Magic Defense upon maxing Adv. Blue Aura.
- High avoid rate (40%) after maxing Adv. Yellow Aura (passive + active).
- Low HP potion usage due to drain + High avoid rate + high def + many invincible skilll.
- Low MP potion usage due to high base mp and without magic guard.
Cons
- The only class does not have a mount.
- Easy get bored, use blow skill from level 10 to 200 (twister spin & dark shock has cooldown)
- Attack speed is dependent on weapon speed, most weapon has slow speed!
- 1v1 DPS is very low.

Will of Alliance for Resistance
1. At level 10, complete all of the tutorial quests until you are level 14 with the earring.
2. At level 14, complete the airship quest (kill 80 airships get 10 chips)
3. At level 15, complete the quest where you transform into Surl (you need 10 red potions, 10 blue potions, and 3 acorns) and talk to the fat dude with the pockies.
4. (DOES NOT APPLY TO DEMON SLAYER) At level 18, complete the quest from the girl you helped in the very beginning. (she will give you a series of quests. first get 60 wooden signs, then 30 snake tails, and then kill the last monster in the training area)
5. At level 20, talk to Surl. Collect waters to fill up his tank.
6. At level 23, talk to Surl again. Enter the airplane area to find a bunch of red-hooded bunnies. Kill one and take its badge. Go back to Surl and accept his new quest.
7. FINALLY, talk to Claudine and finish the quest.
After this step, keep accepting quests from/talking to Claudine and one of her quests will eventually transport you to Ereve to get the Alliance Will skill. You will also have to talk to Lady Cygnus once you’re there in order to get the Alliance medal (gives a nice +500 hp/+500 mp)
Since you only need 10 points into the Blow skills now to get Finishing Blow, should we just max out other skills like Chain?

A Battle mage will have more damage compared to Evan. And battle mages can heal with each attack cus of their buff. So youcan save mesos at the same time. So in my opinion,battle mages are better

What is Battle Master good for? There already is a 90% stance from 3rd job.

For battle mage’s 3rd job skill build, there’s a mistake. You mentioned “Everything maxed except Dark Shock.” It should be “Everything maxed except Stance”, right?
Its been removed. Instead, you can max out all spells but one. For that one, you’re missing 1 SP. So you can leave 1 point off of blood drain since its still 5% life steal. I left it off Hyper Dark Chain because… You don’t really use it later anyway. Its up to you, though.

The 2nd job SP skill no longer exists apparently. You end up maxing everything but one spell, which will be short 1 SP. Which spell do we leave unmaxed? Hyper Dark Chain?

Whateves… you put 10 sp in blue aura initially to unlock Body Boost… then you max it later as it isn’t really necessary in earlier levels
Ayumilove, you put blue aura twice on the 3rd job skill build and one of them is maxed (no.9) while the other has only 10 SP on it (no.2). Is it supposed to be maxed?
When I use summon reaper the buff has a duration even though it says toggle on/off is this how it’s supposed to be?
@Zeynox: Thanks for your feedback, maybe they displace the quest for something else. hmm. Or maybe they are doing something like Evan for Battle Mage, like removing those quests, and gives free SP upon reaching level xxx.
Ayumi,the quest ”Boulder Muncher test?!” was removed i think and now not everything is maxed in 2nd job anymore.

Eh, I think you should remove that little “bad 1vs1 dmg”
Battle rage, finishing blow boss dmg, sweeping staff chaining, number 8 dps in ms. the 1v1 dmg is amazingly good
it that Grand light aura 3x effect give to party mmber?or party member just get normal aura effect?
With Grand Light Aura is it possible to achieve maximum attack speed?
@Shadowcape: Thanks for pointing out the Level 150 Hyper Skill. I’ll amend the 3rd job skill build guide. Regarding the damage from Hyper Skill, will need to perform some testing to confirm which is the one that takes affect. But my hunch is on the first one (520% + 20% = 540%).

@Ayumi, When a Battle mage reaches level 150. The Hyper skill buff gives 100% Stance. This means that Stance DOES NOT need to be maxed anymore and any extra sp can go to Dark Shock.
And since i’m still not used to hyper skill, skill passives. Does the 20% Damage from “Reinforce” Passives go into the skill (520%+20%=540%) Or Something like, 1,000% Damage and 20% of that makes a total of 1,200%?

Yeah my BAM has five extra SP from second job as well.. However i am loving the new Grand Light Aura.
I just figured out that body booster and GLA apply to all active auras, not just one. Im dumb.

For some reason, my new BaM has extra SP left over from 2nd Job.
And also, regarding your explanation for the 2nd job skills. The extra SP is given right after completing the “Boulder Muncher Test” quest. There was no need to do the alliance part unless one was going for the W.O.T.A. passive skill.
