MapleStory Reboot Training Guide
The new Reboot server is truly non-pay-to-win. Red-Black Cubes, Hyper Teleport Rock, AP-SP Reset Scrolls, Safety Charm, Miracle Circulator, House Wedding Ticket and Facial Expressions can be purchased with meso in Reboot Server Cash Shop whereas NXCash is required in regular servers. There is no economy as player to player trading is prohibited. This means, even though the game is infested with botters and hackers, they wouldn’t directly affect your gameplay, unless you want to be competitive. The general mobs and bosses have increased difficulty, encouraging you to participate in group play for tackling most of the contents. The “No Player-Player Trading” philosophy somehow also applies to the characters of the same account. Hence, even though you might get a “shareable” greed pendant or other equipment, it cannot be traded with other characters. All characters have to be self-sufficient. I personally didn’t like this since I like to gear for my other toons when playing on my main. As of now, the Reboot servers are extremely crowded, making the whole gameplay experience laggy and frequent disconnection is a common occurrence. All the cash items are temporary and the permanent cash events are absent in Reboot.

Exp Boosters
Use Exp Boosters to increase the experience gained from each monsters so you need to kill fewer of them to level up!
EXP Buff | Description |
Party Buffs | This includes a Priest’s Holy Symbol 1.5x and a Beast Tamer’s Friends of Arby 1.3x. While not a direct EXP boost, Kanna’s Kishin Shoukan boosts spawn rate and spawn count of normal mobs. |
Runes | An interactive NPC which you talk to (default key spacebar) and use your arrow keys in order to get a 2 minute 1.5x buff. Runes can be used every 15 minutes and respawns on the same map after 1 hour. |
Cash Shop Coupons | Coupons you can purchase in the Cash Shop for 2x experience. |
Mercedes Link Skill | Level up a Mercedes Character to 70/120 for a 10/15% exp boost. |
Zero Character Card | This character to your card set gives a 4%/6%/8%/10% exp boost. |
Event Coupons | Events such as Attendence Quests, Hot Time gifts, etc. often have EXP multipliers (1.3x/1.5x/2x) as rewards to completing them. |
Resting | By having a character rest as a part time job, a character can potentially get a 1.3x coupon. |
Star Planet | Star Planet rewards 2x coupons for completing mini games. |
2x Events | During some weekends holidays and events, Maplestory can experience a 2x events which stack with other boosts. |
Burning | Arguably the best effect for leveling. This effect is given to one character per world during an event period via character creation (past event starting at level 10) or questline (e.g. Sizzling Santa quest beginning at level 33) that allows the user to level 3 times per level (e.g. instead of leveling from 33-34, you would level 33-34-35-36) Think of it as buy one, get two free! |
Tips and Tricks:

What are Starforce Maps?
As of GMS v.157 Shinning Star Update, MapleStory has recently converted some of the regular maps as Starforce Maps. How to identify one? The map that has a glowing red portal leading to the next map is a Starforce map. Monsters in Starforce maps rewards 3 times more EXP. If you do not have the required amount of stars as specified by the Starforce map, you will only deal 1 damage to the monster residing inside. Where to get these stars? You will need to enhance your equipment (e.g. hat, overall, glove, cape, weapon, face accessory, belt, earrings, etc) using the Star Force Enhancement System that consumes “Spell Traces” which are dropped from defeated enemies. The higher the equipment level, the more “Spell Traces” they cost. Personally, I enhanced Level 20, 60 and 100 equips (40 levels gap is sufficient). Having 10 equips with 5~7 stars each easily provides 50~70 stars which meets the requirement for Star Force maps.
Part-Time Job: Resting
Set your character you are leveling using this part-time job (Resting) to gain 1.3X EXP boost coupon. This coupon does not stack with other EXP coupon. This is quite helpful when you are leveling multiple characters.
Training Tips
Don’t forget that you can press “W” in MapleStory to open up the World Map, and type in the monster name or the map name to find the exact location from where you are. Also, the Maple guide provided in-game option in MapleStory isn’t too bad, you are free to follow that guide (auto-teleports you to that map) or follow mine here for where I’ll be trainining. With that all covered, lets begin the training guide. In addition, take note where the monsters resides and how far they live from your job hometown. Example: monsters in Pantheon are for Kaiser/Angelic Buster whereas monsters in Edelstein are for Resistance jobs as its closer to their hometown, but you have the option to visit Victoria Island or other maps based on the information below if you don’t mind the extra effort of migrating there for training.

@Choong: I think Zombie Mushmom has been removed from game. I couldn’t find it in MapleStory World Map.
can i know where to find zombie mushmom?
@lamokids: You can try Dim Light aka DL for Level 100-150 but the mobs there likes to debuff players. The EXP rate is quite decent and the mobs is packed like a can of sardines.
Check this latest guide out.

Hey just wondering the training spot at 140 for SEA, as i think SEA’s mob lvl is abit different
@all: Best MapleStory Training Spots V8 (2016) has been added for 5th Job Leveling.
Check it out at http://ayumilove.net/best-maplestory-training-spots-guide-v8/
Arcane River
1. Road to Extinction
2. Chew Chew Island
3. Dream City Lacheln
@Arthur: Sorry for the inconvenience caused. MapleSEA and GMS monster level is quite different when it comes to Singapore maps. The other regular maps are the same. I’ll be creating another training guide for MapleStory V right now and I’ll be linking it here.
Hi Ayumi,
Thanks for sharing the guide… appreciate… Have return to maple land recently after 2 years break… was following yr guide for build till training guide.
140-165 Slimy, Selkie Jr. (Mysterious Path 3)
I went to MP3 today but the mobs is not level 155???
Abit lost where to go… currently at 151.
Thank u.
this seems to be outdated
Not sure about this outside of gms but for the alternative training spots
Tangyoon PQ is now 5/day
MPE doesn’t exist anymore – but monster park itself has 2 entries a day ranging from 100+ and is about 1 level per entry
the 50-60 chryse storyline doesnt exist anymore -replaced with Chryse PQ !
Otherwise love the guide been following it for the most part other than running quests
@M00NCak3Z: Thanks for spotting that little typo! I have updated the article to “noon-pay-to-win”.
hey ayumi youve got a tiny typo
“The new Reboot server is truly non-play-to-win.”
think you meant pay 🙂
Does this apply to non-reboot?
fyi this training guide is completely out of date. dipq is no longer good, missing bunnies, hilla is terrible for exp and requires big funding, etc.
Monster Park Extreme was removed from the game, and I’m Lvl 126. Also you spelled “Moon Bunny” as “Hilla”. Strange typo :3
Does hilla really can take as a training?I heard that exp from hilla was too little for 120+
May I know, Msea current version is V159, but it does has ursus, so which version should i follow?
add moon bunny 130+ respawn is high good exp level
HI I would like to ask so far in maple sea I never see anyone using the familiars since at maplesea we do not seem to have that yet and out system is snot reboot yet . However the training spot for some place have changed i think mushroom shrine and showa map trainings are more better for level 160-200 . The reason is the spawn rate is faster and hp of the monsters are more better as well and for bossing not all people can do that too unless your well equipped
I found that DIPQ got significantly nerfed and is not a good place to level up anymore 🙁
is this guide still up to date or is it out of date as of heros reborn
I recommend trying out Horntail at difficulty Normal, it gives a lot of EXP. IT is unlocked at LVL 135
GMS I highly recommend trying out the Burning Fields. They will stop becoming Burning Fields if they get too popular though. I did the math for Ghost Pirates (lvl 10 Burning Field) vs the popular Dual Ghost Pirates. Dual Ghost Pirates. It was 1.9x better than the popular Dual Ghost Pirates. During 2x Exp it was only 1.5x better cuz the Multiple adds not times.
@Keon:that is for GMS in mapleSEA and europe maplestory is 70lvl ~ 105lvl
MP3 for lvl 140????
@Potato: Have you tried the new Reboot server yet?
“The new Reboot server is truly non-play-to-win.”
nice
@Senpai: Thanks for the correction! I’ll fix the typo right away 🙂
In EXP Boosters you have “Kanna’s Kishin Soukan” soukan is actually Shoukan XD
MP3 lvl 140? I play the ems, and the exp is around 1k, is this right?
I am so happy that this came out T^T … been waiting ages to know the best spots to grind. Thanks Ayumi <3
@Warmn: Thanks for your feedback! I have corrected “Violent Clamp” to “Violent Clam”.
In your Reboot guide for levels 30-50, “Violent Clamp” should be Violet Clam Slime instead.
What about leveling through 180-189?
@Trinityking: Thanks for highlightning about Reboot pet. I’ll remove it from the description.
Hey you said in your description that pets and cosmetics are available for purchase with mesos in Reboot. I don’t think I found anything for pets that can be bought for mesos. Is that a mistake on your part (no offense)? Because if it isn’t, I would like to know where you can get the pet.
@yichor: All KMS updates will be released to GMS, MapleSEA, EMS, CMS, TMS, BMS, etc. But it will take some time for it to reach MapleSEA since they update kinda slow.
did reboot patch will coming to Maplesea?
