Valuk Review

Valuk is an Elite Offense Wood Hero from Soulplunders in Awaken Chaos Era. Valuk’s skill kit revolves around inflicting debuff to an enemy with his Accuracy Down and Poison debuff. He is a staple in many boss raiding teams, especially for F2P (Free to Play) players as he is easily ascendable to unleash his full potential and is able to apply multiple Poison debuffs on the enemy. However, his passive skill was nerfed on the day of Global Launch January 17th 2022, which results in being less efficient in clearing the enemy waves and bosses. The alternative heroes for Valuk as a dedicated Poisoner are Santis and Ravyn.

Dark Nourishment is Valuk’s unique trait that allows him to apply Accuracy Down debuff on enemy whenever the enemy attacks him. When the enemy is affected by Accuracy Down, your heroes will have a higher chance to dodge the enemy attacks, which improves their survivability against enemy nukes especially bosses from Arcane Dominator, Agulis the Dragon and No Man’s Land.

Corrupting Whack is his basic attack that deals damage to an enemy while having a chance to apply Poison debuff. It’s recommended to disable Valuk’s skill during auto-battle, so he can prioritize stacking up a high amount of Poison debuff with this skill to deal more damage in the long run. Cursed Set is one of the best gear for Valuk to increase his Poison damage output against his foes. If you feel Valuk is too weak to survive against enemy hits, Revival Set is a better alternative to help him recuperate until you farmed decent Cursed Set gears.

Corrupting Roots is his signature passive skill that applies Poison debuff on the enemy whenever they attack any of hero in your squad. The more attacks dealt by them, the more Poison they receive from Valuk! The best area to optimize this skill is to use it against enemies who perform Joint Attacks or Counterattacks such as Queen of Tides’s Tideguard utilizes Joint Attack to deal more AoE damage to your team while Roaring Tulpa charges up his Counterattack bar for every hits he receive up to 6 times before counterattacking.

Dark Whispers is Valuk’s ultimate ability that deals AoE damage to all enemies and the damage increases based on the number of Poisons stacked on them. However, the damage dealt by this skill does not surpass the amount of damage dealt by Poison debuff, especially against enemies who have an enormous amount of Health at higher difficulty such as Stage 12 of Arcane Dominator dungeons. Hence, it’s advisable to disable Valuk’s skills to prioritize stacking as many Poison debuffs as possible to knock out the enemy swiftly.

Overall, Valuk is an excellent Elite hero to help you in your journey in farming decent gears starting with Queen of Tides and followed by Roaring Tulpa. Provide him with a sufficient amount of Focus to prevent enemies from resisting his debuff and the remaining stats should be focused on Health and Defense to raise his survivability. To unleash his full potential, equip him in Cursed Set and Raptor Set to allow him to poison the enemies quickly. In addition, pairing him with Santis enables you to speed run dungeons as she can help duplicate those Poison to other enemies and extend the Poison duration.

Valuk Bio

Valuk was an upstanding member of the treant race before a tidal wave of chaos energy corrupted his intellect and twisted his appearance beyond measure. He has since become a walking cauldron of chaos energy, wounding or poisoning any living creature in close proximity. As a corrupted treant, Valuk no longer possesses any natural connection to the forest, but merely lumbers in the direction of any potential nearby target of corruption on which the mindless Valuk now hopes to infect to repeat the same agonizing process of corrupting chaos enslavement.
