Helmar Bio
“Helmar the Berserker” was once one of the most feared gladiators in the Bloody Arena, and a favourite among the nobles for his cruel showmanship in often beheading fellow slaves defeated in battle. Yet his reign of terror in the Arena finally came to an end courtesy of Zachary and Urzag, two accomplished warriors in their own right who overcame Helmar’s brute strength with a cooperative mindset against which Helmar’s attacks could find no weakness.
Although undoubtedly one of the main draws of the Arena, Helmar experienced something of a fall from grace with the nobles after his defeat at Urzag and Zachary’s hands, who also became frustrated at the financial losses caused by the high number of gladiators Helmar was fatally wounding.
Helmar became one of few gladiators actually expelled from the Arena by the gaming warden, but found a new lease on life as captain of a group of mercenaries in the relatively lawless Bloodbeast Jungle. Helmar has since acquired a powerful new patron, the mysterious Archcleric Valeria, who has promised him victory against the elves…
