Bachelard Review
Bachelard is a Legendary Offense Fire hero from Sylvan Woodlands in Awaken Chaos Era. Bachelard skills revolve around dealing a massive amount of single-target damage and applying debuffs such as Defense Down and Ignite. He is available in the 300% Summon Rate Up for 1 week starting on 27th April 2022, which was the day when Bachelard and Dark Dragon Asrina were first released!.
Undying Embers is Bachelard’s unique trait that allows him to negate any damage receive from enemy who counterattacks Bachelard’s attack such as Roaring Tulpa Counterattack mechanic and heroes who possess a counterattack buff or counterattack passive skill (e.g. Garrell, Thomas, Sylan, Brand, Kyle). Once Bachelard receive the counterattack from the enemy, he will instantly self-buff himself with 30% Damage Up (without Ascension 5) or 50% Damage Up buff (Ascension 5). Hence, this trait is kinda situational and not useful for most content in the game to increase his survivability and boosting his overall damage output in comparison to other Legendaries in the game such as Hector, Siress and Garrell. Currently, there is a bug with his trait where the Roaring Tulpa boss is able to bypass this protection and knock him out!
Fire Spear is his basic attack that attacks an enemy and applies Ignite debuff on them. This skill can perform an additional attack if the enemy has an existing debuff on them. However, if the enemy does not have any debuff and the only debuff they gained first is through this skill, then it will not proc the bonus attack from this skill. You will need sufficient Focus stats on Bachelard to apply Ignite.
Power Burn is Bachelard’s special ability that allows him to apply Defense Down on the enemy, which enables his allies to deal more damage to them. Hence, it’s recommended to speed-tune him to take his turn before the main nukers in your team. However, if you are using Bachelard to tank the counterattack damage dealt by the Roaring Tulpa boss, then it would be advisable to speed-tune him to go last in the team to perform the multiple attacks to get the boss’s attention.
Firestrike is the ultimate ability that allows him to perform multiple fire spear throw up to a maximum of 4 hits based on the number of negative effects on the target. To bring out the full damage potential of his ultimate nuke, you will need to prep the target with a high amount of debuff. This can be done easily by pairing him with a debuffer who can apply multiple stacks of Ignite, Poison, or Bleeding debuff before Bachelard perform his ultimate.
Overall, Bachelard is an underwhelming Legendary Fire Offense hero as he deals very little damage from his Ignite debuff. He is useable in Roaring Tulpa, Bane Wraith, and Flame Lizard. To unleash Bachelard’s full potential, provide him with a sufficient amount of Focus stats to apply Ignite and Attack stats to increase his Ignite damage output. Then, equip him with a Cursed Set to enable him to apply multiple stacks of Ignite for more damage or Warrior Set for more consistent Ignite damage. After play-testing him, I feel that they are much better alternative heroes (e.g. Thomas) to utilize who can out damage him, especially on higher difficulties of Roaring Tulpa Hell Mode 1 & 2.

Bachelard Bio
The young Bachelard lived a rather isolated existence alongside his frail and sickly mother on the periphery of the Leopard Clan of Bloodbeast Jungle who prize strength and power above all else and hence found little place for the mother and her son in mainstream society.
A mighty warrior himself, Bachelard’s experience of ostracism provided something an unusual outlook on life and unlikely friendship with fellow outsider Alessia, a human girl taken in by the Chieftain as an act of kindness, but who likewise had trouble integrating. Bachelard spent much of his days as a youth exploring Bloodbeast Jungle with the frail girl, a friendship that might have blossomed into something more were it not for a cruel incident that forever separated her from the Leopard Clan. Years passed as did the vividness of Bachelard’s memory of her.
Even a poor specimen of Leopard Clan strength, such as Bachelard’s mother, could not stop the young cub and now perhaps mightiest Leopard warrior of his generation from winning considerably greater popularity among clansfolk who had in earlier years been happy enough to ostracize the two. Bachelard found himself the recipient significant attention, envy from his male peers and interest from females impressed at his extraordinary feats of strength. Yet Bachelard had in some way grown cool to the favor of his clansfolk and, perhaps from his earliest experiences as an outsider or the unusual friendship of his youth, pined for a life outside the Jungle and to recapture something lost with the departure of his childhood human friend.
