MapleStory Cannon Shooter Cannoneer Job Selection

Cannon Shooter (Cannoneer / Cannon Master) is one of MapleStory Special Adventurer who uses Cannon aided with by a Monkey companion. Cannoneer primary stat is STR (strength) while secondary stat is DEX (dexterity). Cannoneer skills is a mix breed of Mechanic and Pirate, therefore you can see some skills are alike disguise in vivid animations.

Cannoneer Beginner Skills

Master of Organization Master of Organization
Automatically increases equip, use, etc, and set-up slots.
Slot expansion occurs in 1st job and 2nd job advancement by +24 slots.

Master of Swimming Master of Swimming
Swim and jump faster while in water.

Pirate Blessing Pirate Blessing
Permanently increases all stats and Max HP and Max MP. Upon reaching level 70, you can bless a selected character in same world on same account with permanent stats.
LV1: +15 all stats and 5% HP & MP.

Cannoneer 1st Job Skills

Cannon Blaster Cannon Blaster
Attack 3 enemies with fireballs.
LV1: MP -7, 187% Damage.
LV20: MP -11, 265% Damage.

Cannon Boost Cannon Boost
Permanently increases attack and defense.
LV1: +2 Weapon Attack, +25 Physical and Magical Defense.
LV10: +20 Weapon Attack, +250 Physical and Magical Defense.

Blast Back Blast Back
Attack 3 enemies with a chance to cripple (slow) their movement speed.
LV1: MP -20, 154% Damage. 28% Cripple Rate. -18 Speed for 2 sec.
LV15: MP -20, 250% Damage. 70% Cripple Rate. -60 Speed for 5 sec.

Cannon Strike Cannon Strike
Attack 1 enemy 4 times with a retrieval boxing glove.
LV1: MP -7, 76% Damage.
LV20: MP -9, 95% Damage.

Cannoneer 1st Job Skill Build: Everything maxed except Cannon Strike.
1. Add 1 SP into Cannon Blaster and Blast Back.
2. Max Cannon Boost, Cannon Blast and Blast Back.
3. Dump remaining SP into Cannon Strike.

Explanation:
Cannon Blast will be your primary 1st job training skill. Max Cannon Boost to have a better base damage before proceeding with maxing Cannon Blast. Once these 2 skills are at their full potential, max Blast Back (which can be used as a teleporting skill while traveling) and dump the other remaining Skill Points (SP) into Cannon Strike. Cannon Strike is not effective against cluster of weak monsters, better go with Cannon Blast from the start.

LV1: MP -16, 163% Damage.
LV20: MP -24, 185% Damage.

Barrel Bomb Barrel Bomb
Attack 8 enemies 3 times with a rolling barrel with a chance to knockback them.
Upon coming to a halt, the oak barrel explodes and damages nearby monsters.
LV1: MP -20, 32% Damage, 50% Knockback rate, 275% explode damage.
LV20: MP -28, 70% Damage, 100% Knockback rate, 370% explode damage.

Cannon Booster Cannon Booster
[REQUIRE] LV5 Cannon Mastery.
Temporarily reduce cannon shot delay for faster shooting response.
Level 1: MP 29, Lasts 20 sec.
Level 10: MP 11, Lasts 200 sec.

Monkey Magic Monkey Magic
Temporarily increases all stats, Max HP, Max MP, speed and jump.

Cannoneer 2nd Job Skill Build: Everything maxed except Scatter Shot.
1. Add 1 SP into Scatter Shot and Barrel Bomb.
2. Add 5 SP into Cannon Mastery and 6 SP into Cannon Booster.
3. Max Cannon Mastery and Physical Training.
4. Cap Scatter Shot at Level 19.
5. Max Monkey Magic, Critical Fire, Cannon Booster and Barrel Bomb.

Explanation:
Level 1 Scatter Shot overpowers Cannon Blast (1st job skill) and you can use this to take down weak enemies as you strengthen your mobbing knocking barrel skill. Barrel Bomb has longer range and knockback enemies away from you before they could retaliate. However, there is a slight delay with it. You can either switch Barrel Bomb with Scatter Shot, but don’t max Scatter Shot since Barrel Bomb base damage will be further improved in 3rd job. If you are a player who uses 2 types of skill for training, you can bump those 2 skill’s level simultaneously, but not recommended since your damage is distributed.

Attack 6 enemies 4 times with a flame drilling cannonball.
LV1: MP -28, 180% Damage.
LV20: MP -36, 220% Damage.

Monkey Madness Monkey Madness
Attacks 10 nearby enemies 5 times with mini explosions. The explosion has a chance to stun them for a short period. Also passively increases Barrel Bomb damage.
LV1: MP -30, 223% Damage, 45% chance to stun for 2 sec. Cooldown 5 sec. +3% Barrel Bomb Damage
LV20: MP -46, 280% Damage, 95% chance to stun for 5 sec. Cooldown 5 sec. +30% Barrel Bomb Damage

Monkey Wave Monkey Wave
Attacks all enemies within path and has a chance to stun them. If hit enemy with critical, there is a chance enemy receives max damage! Permanently increases Critical Rate.
LV1: MP -35, 620% Max Damage, 45% Stun Rate, 2% chance to deal max damage. +1 Critical Rate.
LV20: MP -55, 1000% Max Damage, 95% Stun Rate, 50% chance to deal max damage. +20 Critical Rate.

Cannon Jump Cannon Jump
Attack 6 enemies nearby the launching area where you shoot the ground with cannon to propel yourself up to a platform above you instead of climbing ladder/rope.
Level 1: MP -60, 168% Damage.
Level 15: MP -35, 210% Damage.

Barrel Roulette Barrel Roulette
Enchant your attacks to inflict random abnormal status. These abnormal statuses are darkness / stun / freeze / slow. Abnormal status will lasts for some period on enemies. Also permanently increases overall damage.
LV1: MP -35, 3% chance to inflict abnormal status lasting 3 sec. Enchant buff lasts 186 sec and cooldown in 57 sec. +1% Damage.
LV10: MP -60, 30% chance to inflict abnormal status lasting 5 sec. Enchant buff lasts 186 sec and cooldown in 30 sec. +10% Damage.

Luck of the Dice Luck of the Dice
Roll dice to get a random buff. Roll a 1 and you will not get buff.
LV1: MP -40, Buff lasts 66 sec and cooldown in 500 sec.
LV20: MP -60, Buff lasts 180 sec and cooldown in 200 sec.

Summons an anchor that pulls nearby enemies toward it.

Level 1: MP -62, Lasts 6 sec. 220% Pull Damage. 508% Explode Damage.
Level 15: MP -86, Lasts 20 sec. 500% Pull Damage. 620% Explode Damage.

Monkey Militia Monkey Militia (Supportive)
Summons stationary twin artillery monkey to attack an enemy at a fixed interval.
Has a fixed cooldown of 10 seconds.
LV1: MP -40, Lasts 32 sec, 280% Damage.
LV15: MP -70, Lasts 60 sec, 280% Damage.

Double Down Double Down (Supportive)
Rolls two dice, and if both has same number, +10% buff effect to the original.
Example: Both dice rolls on 6, you gain 40% EXP Rate (30% + 10%)
However second dice only appears based on a occurring rate.
Has a fixed cooldown of 200 seconds.
LV1: MP -60, 10% chance to roll 2 dice. Buff lasts 184 sec.
LV5: MP -60, 70% chance to roll 2 dice. Buff lasts 208 sec.

Mega Monkey Magic Mega Monkey Magic (Supportive)
A successor of Monkey Magic boost stat skill. The buff can be stack with others and lasts at fixed period of 300 sec.
LV1: MP -60, +323 HP MP, +25 All Stats, +11 Speed, +6 Jump, +163 Acc Avoid.
LV30: MP -80, +323 HP MP, +40 All Stats, +15 Speed, +10 Jump, +250 Acc Avoid.

Cannon Overload Cannon Overload (Passive)
Increase damage and ignore some enemy defense.
LV1: +11% Damage. Ignores 5% Enemy DEF.
LV30: +40% Damage. ignores 20% Enemy DEF.

Pirate's Spirit Pirate’s Spirit (Passive/Supportive)
Temporarily increase chance to resist knock back by enemies.
Also passively increases counterattack chance.
LV1: MP -50, 22% knockback resist, +1% Counterattack Rate. Lasts 10 sec.
LV30: MP -80, 80% knockback resist, +16% Counterattack Rate. Lasts 10 sec.

Explanation:
The skills mentioned in skill build should be maxed in sequence for effective leveling speed. Cannon Bazooka is a great mobbing attack while Cannon Barrage is used for single target high damage attack. Before maxing these 2 primary skills for 4th job, boost your damage with Cannon Overload and get extra buff from Double Down. The rest of the skills can be any order though. Nautilus Strike is maxed last since you spamming it is kinda costly and has a huge cooldown.

Rolling Rainbow (Level 170)
Summon your crewmates to join forces and shoot three flashes of rainbow light at up to 10 enemies in front of you for 400% two times continuously, for a maximum of 12 seconds. There is a cooldown of 90 seconds. The maximum damage for this skill is 9,999,999. (Key-down skill, MP Cost: 30, max Enemies Hit: 10, Damage: 400%, Duration: 12 sec, Cooldown: 90 sec, Max Damage: 9999999)

Epic Adventure (Level 200)
A buff that gives the legendary Adventurers of the Maple World 10% increased damage and the ability to pass the damage cap by 50,000 for 60 seconds. There is a cooldown of 120 seconds. (MP Cost: 100, Duration: 60 sec, Damage: +10%, Max Damage: +50000, Cooldown: 120 sec. Only applies to Explorer class within the party.)

MapleStory Adventurer Mihile Job Selection

Mihile (Mikhail / Knight of Light) is one of MapleStory Special Cygnus Adventurer who wields one-handed sword and a soul shield. The Soul Shield can gain experience and level up, and upgraded at every job advancement. Upon reaching 4th Job Advancement, it becomes Soul Shield of Justice with potential stats. Mihile undergoes job advancement through Empress Cygnus and Nineheart in Ereve and can reach up to Level 200. Mihile primary stat is STR and secondary stat is DEX. [NOTE] KMS (Korean MapleStory) name this class as Mikhail whereas GMS name this class as Mihile. KMS (Korea MapleStory) released Mihile on Mar 21 2012. GMS (Global MapleStory) released Mihile on Sep 5 2012.

Mihile Storyline

The mightiest hero can come from the humblest beginnings. The great warrior you know as Mihile did not always go by that name. Once upon a time he was an overworked stock boy at Mr. Limbert’s General Store, known only as “kiddo.” Little did that young boy know that his life was about to change forever…

Empress Cygnus long suspected that there was more to the boy than what met the eye, so she and Neinheart decided to test the young warrior. It wasn’t until Cygnus watched him defeat her minions with ease that she knew the truth for sure. Neinheart was skeptical, but Cygnus’s faith never wavered. She explained to the boy that his father was a warrior of great power; a warrior for good and a warrior for the light. He had left his infant son with the old man Limbert, planning to one day return, but he was never able to escape the great evil that defeated him. She went on to call the nameless kiddo “Mihile,” which means “Born of Light” in honor of his fallen father, Chromile, the Knight of Light.

The young Empress and her faithful follower Neinheart brought the boy with a new name back with them to Ereve. There he learned that “Only the darkest night can produce the most brilliant sunrise!”

Mihile Notes

  • Mihile is a Cygnus Knight, but his tutorial and storyline are much like Hero and Jett classes, and his max level is 200.
  • There is no gender selection with Mihile – he can only be male!
  • Each Mihile character has its own individual Cash Inventory not shared with other characters.
    Until Lv.120, Mihile receives an additional 10% EXP.
  • Once Mihile reaches Lv.70, he can pass down the Beginner skill Knight’s Watch to another character on the same account in the same world. Knight’s Watch uses the power of light to protect a character from being knocked back.
  • After completing the 4th job advancement, you can obtain Empress’s Shout and Empress’s Prayer through quests, and you will be able to create an Ultimate Explorer.
  • Lv. 30 Mihiles will get their own cards added to the Character Card system: Weapon DEF: +2/3/4/5% for Lv.30-69, Lv.70-119, Lv.120-199, Lv.200.

Explanation:
Soul Blade will be your primary attacking skill during Mihile 1st Job. Therefore, add 1 SP (Skill Points) to unlock it and max Soul Jump and Soul Agility to traverse wide maps quickly and reach monsters faster for the kill. Max HP Increase last since the monsters at this level will not be able to kill you within 3-4 hits.

MapleStory Magician Skill Build Guide

MapleStory Magician is a Adventurer Magician Class who specializes in either staff or wands. Staff deals more damage but slower attack speed whereas wand is deals lesser damage but compensated with faster attack speed. Wand users can equip shields for additional defense and stat. Primary Stat is INT (Intellect) and secondary stat is LUK (Luck). Magicians has a choice to choose 1 of the 3 subclasses which are Cleric (Healer and Support), Fire/Poison Wizard (Focus on dealing tons of damage) and Ice/Lightning Wizard (Focuses on both defense and offense).

This makes training much more efficient as a result faster leveling progress. Add 1 SP into Energy Bolt to unlock Magic Claw first. After maxing the essential skills, dump the remaining skill points into Energy Bolt.

Furthermore, Blazing Arrow will be replaced with an AoE (Area of Effect) Fire Skill in 3rd Job which is much more efficient against multiple mobs located above and below your platform. Before maxing your offensive skills, max Teleport (speed up travelling and reaching or avoiding enemies quickly), Spell Mastery (stabilize your damage), High Wisdom (further boost min max damage and MP Capacity). Add 3 SP into MP Eater to unlock Meditation (further boost min max damage) and then Poison Breath. Remaining SP can be dumped into Blazing Arrow.

Cleric does not need to use any HP nor MP potions if enemy is not able to kill you in within 4-5 hits and you can defeat them within 1-3 hits. As a result, you spend no meso on potions and you save tons of meso!

While Ice Strike is weaker than Ice Demon, it is maxed first because it has an AoE (Area of Effect). Seal is maxed over Thunder Spear simply because you might actually find a use for it. Thunder Spear however, is completely outclassed by both Chain Lightning (4th Job Skill) and Ice Demon (3rd Job Skill). Elemental Decrease is maxed because it’s vital for killing monsters resistant/immune to Lightning and/or Ice. Cold Beam is listed as a potential SP dump because it’s helpful in BPQ (Balrog Party Quest).

Buy from Free Market or hunt them from boss monsters such as Zakum, Chaos Zakum and Hilla (Hard Mode) as they dropped these books. It will take at least 2 boss raids/runs to get those skill books. If you do not have Angel Ray yet, don’t worry. You can still use Shinning Ray to train and party leech exp from party members at LHC (Lion Heart Castle) or a place where you prefer training.

MapleStory Adventurer Jett Job Selection

Jett is a MapleStory Explorer Pirate who wields Gauss Rifles and Core (Shield). This job is a mix of Mechanic, Brawler and Gunslinger skills with a touch of space pirate style. Jett’s Primary stat is DEX (Dexterity). With high dexterity and mobility, Jett uses guns and the extraterrestrial technology she salvaged in her bounty hunting days to obliterate those who stand against her. She also retains a tiny fragment of the core that can be equipped and upgraded to allow her to use a powerful buff skill that provides variable stat boosts to her and another character. Once you work your way through the prelude, you will begin your Jett career at level 10, with the first job advancement already complete. You can accept and complete the quest for the second job advancement at level 30 from Kyrin, and again at level 60 for the third job advancement. At level 80, Jett will receive some very important quests that must be completed before she can proceed with her fourth job advancement quest at level 100.

Jett Storyline

Jett is a bounty hunter who lives in Cerberus, a planet far from MapleStory Island. She was accused of assassinating King Cerberus and now wanted dead or alive. Jett quickly left Cerberus using a space shuttle (spaceship) by the help of Burke (another Bounty Hunter), but the aliens caught up with them and shot the ship down. Jett got hit and traveled back in time and landed in Nautlius Harbor. Burke took this opportunity to steal Jett’s core so he can be more powerful than Jett. The core is a heredity item contained in her shield whereby the power can be only unlocked by Jett’s family. Jett have to reclaim her core and prove her innocence.

“Our dearest King has been assassinated by scoundrel Jett! The former bounty hunter has proven to be an enemy of the state with this heinous act. Jett must be subdued and brought to justice!” as the news spread. NOTE: A Bounty Hunter is a person who captures fugitives for monetary reward. Jett who was a hunter now became hunted since she was accused for killing King Cerberus.

Jett Notes

  • Although we refer to Jett with feminine pronouns outside of the game, you will have the option to play as a male or a female version of Jett in the game.
  • Jett has some required quests that need to be completed before she can go through her 4th job advancement. You’ll receive the first of these quests through the quest notifier (light bulb on the left side of the game window) at Lv.80.
  • She has numerous new skills that are unique to her, which use extraterrestrial technology to obliterate enemies.
  • At each job advancement, Jett will receive a unique gun that gives her bonus damage.
  • Jett has a special equip called the Core. This item grants stat bonuses and is equipped in what would normally be the equip slot for a shield. It cannot be unequipped until it is upgraded at the 4th job advancement, at which point it also gains hidden potential stats.
  • The Core was stolen by Burke, but Jett retains a fragment of it. This fragment can be upgraded at every job advancement, and each upgrade grows stronger as Jett levels up.
  • She has a special buff skill called Core Aura that can be shared with another character on the same account and in the same game world.
  • The Core Aura uses a variable buff system. The numeric value of each stat (STR, DEX, INT, LUK, Weapon ATT, Magic ATT) can be different for each Jett character, and the stats will randomly change after a certain interval of time.
  • When the Core Aura is shared with another character, the variable buffs given to that character may be different from those Jett is receiving. Each character’s Core Aura buffs will change randomly after a certain interval of time.
  • The rank of the Core Aura grows every ten levels from Lv.30-120.
  • Core Aura stats are not given until Jett reaches Lv.30.

Explanation:
Cap Shockwave at Level 19 to have sufficient SP to max Triple Fire which will be used later to unlock Rapid Fire (Jett’s 4th Job Attack Skill). First, add 5 SP into Gun Mastery to unlock Gun Booster and add 6 SP into it to have sufficient time before rebuffing again. Next, max Gun Mastery (damage stabilizer), Dark Clarity (damage booster) and Physical Training (mini damage booster). Then, max out Gun Booster to increase its duration, Perseverance (replenishes HP and MP to save potion) and then cap Shockwave at Level 19. The 1 SP is channeled into Triple Fire. If you are worried on accidentally maxing Shockwave, you can max Triple Fire first but that will slow down your leveling progress.

Jett receives a weapon at every job advancement similarly to Demon Slayer. These equipment (Gauss Rifle and Core) can only be equipped and owned by Jett! The Core Fragment can level up to 4 times. Jett can also equip Pirate Gun without needing any bullets in inventory to fire. Same applies with pirate armor. NOTE: Don’t equip 2-handed weapon such as Polearm/Spear as this will unequip your core. You will not be able to equip your core back!

Q: I reach Level 70 Jett, how do I proceed with 3rd Job Advancement? I can’t find ThunderHammer (NPC aka The Great Blacksmith who fixed Jett’s Core during 1st Job Advancement in Kyrin’s Pirate Battleship) A: MapleStory has changed a little on how it handle advancement. Click on the light-bulb located on the left-side of the screen. Hovering your mouse on the light-bulb displays “Available Quest”. Browse through the list of quests and find for the one named “[Job Advancement] Cracked Core”. Proceed with that quest. Thunderhammer will request you to get 30 Fire Ores like how you did in 1st Job Advancement for 30 Blue Ores. He will automatically warp you to Blast Furnace where rat-like monsters (Furnace Ferret) who possesses these ores. Collect these ores and return to Thunderhammer, and he will get your Core fixed. NOTE: You must use all SP (Skill Points) in 2nd Job Advancement before you can proceed with 3rd Job Advancement.

Q: How do I increase my Jett’s HP? I’m level 22 and have only 630 HP. A: You can use your AP (Ability Point) into HP/MP but its not recommended as this will decrease your damage output. Equip accessories (pendant / medal / belt / cape) that provide extra HP (Health Points).

MapleStory Adventurer Pirate Job Selection

Pirate is one of MapleStory Adventurer Jobs which has 2 professions you can choose in 2nd Job Advancement : Corsair (uses guns) and Buccaneer (uses knuckles). Both professions equip the same armor. Primary stat is DEX (Dexterity) and secondary stat is STR (Strength). You can become a Pirate by requesting Kyrin for guidance. She is the Pirate Job Instructor located in Nautilus Harbor. Pirates are blessed with outstanding dexterity and power, utilizing their guns for long-range attacks while using their power on melee combat situations. Gunslingers use elemental-based bullets for added damage, while Infighters transform to a different being for maximum effect.

Explanation:
You can switch to either Somersault Kick or Double Shot but its recommended to go for max Double Shot. Reason being, Pirate’s health is considerably low and if you train on high level monsters that has high EXP reward, their bump damage is severe and can easily kill you in 3-4 hits. Therefore, to be on safe side of not dying and losing EXP plus train conveniently without having to be close to monsters to attack, use Double Shot for any professions you will be taking for Pirate 2nd Job Advancement! If you plan to use Somersault Kick in the beginning, equip a polearm/spear instead of gun/knuckle to increase the skill attacking range!

Explanation:
Unlock main primary skills (Blunderbuster and Blackboot Bill) first so you can knockback monsters too close to avoid getting unnecessary physical damage and use Blunderbuster to finish them off. You can max either Blackboot Bill or Octo Cannon depending on your preference. Octo Cannon is kinda useful when you position it at a platform which is hard to reach/travel but the downside is you will need to summon it again after 30 seconds, a little of hassle for some aid.

Explanation
Buccaneer Blast will be your primary attacking skill in 4th Job instead of Dragon Strike because Buccaneer tends to charge up pretty quickly in less than 20 seconds and then you get to enjoy a super laser attack that hits multiple mobs. Add 1 SP to access active attacking skills. Finally, start maxing Double Down (to gain double effect from Roll of the Dice), Buccaneer Blast (best mobbing skill when charged), Typhoon Crush (ignores enemy defense) and Dragon Strike (use this while charging up for Buccaneer Blast) after maxing all the damage enhancer skills. Octopunch isn’t good for training since there is a long delay to finish an enemy, its best used for bossing.

MapleStory Adventurer Dragon Warrior Job Selection

MapleStory Zen is an Explorer Pirate Class. This class is special because its MapleSEA version of TMS (Taiwan MapleStory) of Dragon Warrior (Explorer Pirate Class). The only difference between both of them are the skill names and mostly the skill attributes remain the same. Take note that Zen and Dragon Warrior have a few different 4th Job skills which are not shared among each other.

MapleStory Warrior is a Adventurer Warrior Class who specializes in either sword, axe, mace, spear or polearm. STR (Strength) is their primary stat that raises their raw damage and allows them to equip strong heavy armor and wield powerful weapons. Explanation:
Warrior 1st Job primary attacking skill will be Slash Blast as its much more efficient in handling large mobs quickly compared to Power Strike. Be sure to have a stockpile of MP Potions because spamming these skills consumes lots of MP (Mana Points) especially for Warrior, considering that this class has the lowest MP capacity (Max MP). Find a training ground where monsters are tightly pack in one area as Warrior lacks mobility skills. Other classes have mobility skills in 1st Job which greatly helps them reach monsters quickly. Next max Combo Attack and Self Recovery. If you are training on Ice-weak monsters, then max Blizzard Charge first or perhaps you want to have the Freeze effect to prevent enemies from retaliating, you can max either Blizzard or Lightning. There aren’t many Lightning-weak enemies except for Fire or Ice base monsters. Next, max Combat Orders but add 3 SP (Skill Points) into HP Recovery to unlock it. Then proceed with maxing the remaining charges so you can switch charges to give you more variety in training ground and taking advantage of enemy element weaknesses for the extra damage boost. Max Magic Crash as its useful against bosses such as Zakum buff. If you are a Shield user, max Shield Mastery before Combat Orders to benefit from the additional Weapon Attack, otherwise max it at the last. The reason why all 3 element charges are left at Level 18 is because it will filled up with a max Combat Orders (+2 Level).

It is useful to 1 hit KO weak enemies located at unreachable platforms. Max Dragon Strength to further enhance your raw damage and some other supportive skills such as Endure, Magic Crash and Elemental Resistance. You won’t be using Sacrifice nor Dragon Buster in training as Dragon Fury outdamage both skills when dealing with 4 enemies or more. Also, it is very flexible (hits monsters on higher platform due to the large arc swing) and have further range compared to both skills. You can dump the remaining SP into either Sacrifice or Dragon Buster since it does not make much of a difference as all 3 offensive skills will be replace with a more powerful combination of Dragon Fury and Buster in 4th Job.
