Dave’s Guide on Monsters Den Chronicles

Dynamic Difficulty Tricks

You can trick the Dynamic Difficulty to get easy through the game. The Enemy Level of a Floor is determined by the average Level of your Party. If you have a Level 22 Rogue and a Level 2 Warrior the Enemys will spawn with (22+2) /2 = Level 12 and are one Hits for your Rogue even on Hardcore difficulty.

You can use the Exp penalty to keep the Level low as long as you are going for an achievment. This trick is expecially good in the Act IV where your Character wont gain Levels until the fight is over.

Party Members Buff

You can buff your Party with Potions pre starting Act IV they will stay Active until your Character die. 12 Quickness 30% defense and 5% health regeneration.

Refresh Cost

The refresh costs for the Store is determined by the weapon Tier and the Tier by your average Party Level. If your Party Level is small enough or just under 10 you can just refresh for 200 Gold and buy Epic Items for 700-1000 Gold if you did upgrade the category enough.

That way you can buy the powerfull +% Items because their usefullness wont increase much with gear. 10% less Powercosts will stay 10% even with Tier 333 the same goes for defense and speed.

Gems

With consumeables upgraded to the Max and a Tier of 3 ( estimated Level 20) you can buy Epic Gems in the Emporium. The Spawn rate is 30% or something it costs only 1200 Gold to refresh and some of the Gems are very very powerfull. Make sure that you get the Tier 3 refresh costs and you pay an average of 5000 Gold for the Gems like

Shard of Dilarea /25% crit damage and 3% crit/ for Example.

The Gems that scale with your Level sorted by Poweranking.
1) Shard of Dilarea / (°-°)/ 25% crit dmg and 3% crit / (°-°)/
2) Shard of Sarilas /2 Quickness 25% Starting Action/
2) Shard of Euphia / 1 Power Reg 5 int /
3) Shard of Nidal /2 Quickness 5 Endurance/
4) Shard of Callara /30% Health+Power after Battle/

There is no Limit for Shards of Dilarea, I have a Assasin with 93% crit rating and an crit Damage as low as 760% or something he one hits nearly everything even on Hardcore with Hide and annoit even Boss mobs. It’s good for the Pointy blank Ranger too of course.

For the Achievments it doesnt matter which Act you play and the Monsters in Act I have almost no neagtive status Effects /profit.

How to farm Sparks of Legends

1. Unlock Architects Plan via Achievments in the Shop
2. Lvl high enough that you can afford them easy
3. Farm Money.
4. Go into Level one of Act One use a Plan
5. Check for a Shrine
6. Use it or leave to Menu
7. Repeat 4-6 until you have as much Sparks as you want. It takes a while but its the fastest way.

How to use your Spark of Legendes the optimal Way

If you dont have spare Sparks of legends use them on your Rogue/Damage Warrior Mainhand Weapon first then on their offhands. After that if you have a Damage Dealer Hunter use it on his Bow but only if your DD Hunter has 225% Crit Damage++ otherwise hes probably not worth the Spark because of Garins anti Bow run in Chronicles I dont recommend Hunter as DD anyways DD Warrior trumps him easy even on a bad Day.

Mages/Cleric majority of Damage scales with their overall Intellect (Or Endurance with Retribution) and hence the Weapon is just one Item more.

If you have full sparked DD/Weapons go for Martyr’s Signet and Rubiclete Breastplate and give them your frontrow Tanker with both of them sparked you have an insane Health regg.

How to Equip your Frontrow Tanker

Knight Generals Aegis provides a good Defense from the Start and Barbeb Brutalizer is useful with Tier one too. What makes Knight Generals that powerfull is that the 75% chance for 30% (Fortify Defenses). It stacks with the 15% Bolster Defense.

That means you have a 150% chance that your Tanker will have 45% Damage Reduction after the 2nd hit he takes and that from just 2 Items.

To use you Budget Optimal, give him a Shroud of Shadow with 15% Evasion on hit and 5% Passive. Lets add 10-20% Dmg Reduce from Armor.

That makes for a good statistically 80-90% less Heal needed put all you stat Points in Endurance and hes gonna survive that first blow easy.

Add Cleric Dodge Aura (+10% Dodge)and Holy Light the Enemys (30% Miss) and you have a near invulnerable Figther and that with Tier One Epics alone.

Best Weapons

Open End Speed Level/Farm Build that doesn’t relies on Shards of Dilarea.
All weapons are Buyable in the Shop.

Rogues

Mainhand: Bloodletter
Offhand: The Best Defense

Warrior

Defensive
Mainhand: Barbed Brutalizer
Offhand: Knight-General’s Aegis
Offensive
see Rogues

Hunter

Damage
MA Bolt-Thrower Mk II full with Shards of Dilarea
If you dont have Shards or the Hunter heals mainly Deep Woods Shortbow.

Cleric

Healer
Weapon Dawnslice
Offhand: Knight-General’s Aegis
Defensive
see Warrior

Mages

Spellstone Resonator
Magma Torch

Funny Equip Synergy for People with too much Time

Sure Critter

Use the Rerandomize Item to get all Greens with max Shard slots except for some Epics which have crit+stats and Put Shard of Dilerea into it the Assasin can Achieve 100% crit and the Ranger with his Point Blank Skill even Faster.
one or two sure critter with a Damage Modifyer of 8-10 should be your final aim. Even if they are Glasscanons its funny to see Bosses fall with one Hit.

Kick me Warrior

Try to get following items with a Deff Warrior and fill the Rest with Green Items that give you more attention you can get that even on your Mainhand Weapon. Black Flag of Dilaera,Greathelm of the Crusader Lords. That will work like a big kick me sign

Turn Farmer

Place a sole Thief in the Frontrow make sure he has the Cleric Dodge Aura(10) and his own to stack (20%). Give him following Items Griffonsdown(4) Mantle,Deep Woods Shortbow (10),Shroud of Shadow(5),
4/5 Prowler set (10 Evasion) –> 59% Base Evasion that is the Max Ammount possible +15% after getting Hit

Use the Cleric Skill Holy light(30% Miss) at the first Chance give the Cleric some + starting action for max effect. Totally you have a Base Chance of 89% to get no Damage at all but 1/3 Turn per enemy atk and after getting hit another 15% Evasion more.

Get some Endurance to survive the one Hit that Hits you once in a while and maybe give your other Rogue Morning’s Light (10% Enemy Accurancy Reduce) to keep the greatest Thread debuffed almost Manafree and your Mage a Helios Spellstaff (50% chance -19% Enemy Acc)+full Poweregg/-Powercost for Lightning Storm.

The Chance to get Hit wont be Zero because miss and Dodge are calculated after each other but you gonna have to see it yourself to belive it 😀

With respect to your advice on how to farm sparks of legends: I am new to the game and don’t understand a lot of what you said. How do you unlock an architects plan via achievements in the shop? What does farm money mean? If you go to the shrine, where does the spark appear?

  2. Davillage

That was pre Sparks Patch they took a Gem Slot back then. I was too lazy to update the Gear every Lvl 😀

  3. Bima

I have a Assasin with 93% crit rating and an crit Damage as low as 760% or something. how? if Socketed-xxxxx-of Malice then must be 100%

  4. dave

Top right of the bag a little bag + coin icon if my memory doesnt deceive me.

Its on each of the bar thingys you can color change.

  5. Fering

Im trying to earn the Wholesaler achievement but I cant find the sell bag contents button. Im sure I must be overlooking it somehow.

  6. dave

Just change the Skincolor Hair or something of a Character and safe. To open the customize screen you have to click on the little gear on the Full Character Profile Picture i think it was even on the Character Screen while in the Emporium. If not you find it where you can check all the stats via hovering over your Characters Body.

  7. Nate

How do you do the makeover achievement.

  8. Ayumilove

@Dave Very detailed guide. Added to the guide above!

  10. CJ

How did you hack the game to get god-tier weapons and sparks of legend? By the way, excellent guide!

  11. dave

You have to use the Cleric because mindcontrol wont work on him with the Aura activated and to counter the Shadow Copys you have to stack more damage return then HP. That you need alot of Hp regneration and a “decent” amount of Endurace is logical too. The Autoclicker on Pass is the obvious way and make sure you have lots of free inventory slots for teh Pockets.

You can reach Waves in the 1000s if your Pc is stable.
I was dissappointed that i only found stuff in the Pockets that i could buy in the Store except the Sparks. The Game rly needs an additional Item Tier/Monster Tier to Top Book of Dread.

Pre hex i played until wave 90 and got bored because SpiritGuiding is almost as Powerfull if done right.

  12. Logan

Sounds easy enough, second question, how did you idle? Just have gear with damage returns on it and keep auto clicking pass?

  13. dave

There are two ways to get sparks either in the Dimensional Pockets that you get every 5 Waves in Act4 or 1/5-1/7 chance estimated with the shrines.

If you have a low lvl backup Party (optimal Lvl 1) and a level 25+ Mainparty you can overpower them with spirit guided items retallation dmg/endurance + the Potions and play Act 4 until Wave 70-100 then the Chances for Sparks are high. If you have no Backup Party Play until 40 and reset the Chars not your game you will keep the Gear in your Inventory but not the Items that they wear caution!!

2nd way i can think of is to buy tons of the Map revelation Item go into first Map of Act I use it no shrine leave if shrine check if its got a spark rinse and repeat.

  14. Sean

Where do I get more spark of legends, I got one. my guys are lvl 17 but I want more of em.

  15. dave

The Level hacking works but is kinda unrelliable and iam not good enough with hex editing to make a trainer or something couldnt find the green permanent address either.

    But i could replicate it.
I was only searching while on Dungeon Map dont know if it has influens on the results. (It shouldnt)
4Bytes Searched 1 after that unchanged. Then leveling up searched 2.
Didnt spent stat Points and learned no new skill. Searched 2 again to reduce results.

Proceeded to area 2 did a level 2 search again exact value.
The fourth and final Level 2 search 27 results.

Didnt skilled on lvl 3 either and got 4 results.

    😀

  16. Logan

How did you get the 999 tier gear? The only thing I’ve found to be hackable is the hp and power and gold.

  17. dave

13 you can see all the moves/manacosts of all characters on the Character choose Screen.
You just have to click on the Character button at the bottom of the Screen
The Skills that are not available are greyed out. You can figure out the Damage yourself easy with that. They are all like Weapon Damage+Stat and most of it depends on Enemy Armor + Resistance.

The only Noteworthy thing that can change that are kinda crit and Bow resistance.
The Bow dmg is the only thing that gets grounded by half of the monsters additional to the Dodge thing with some Stances.

Besides that i hate that garin nurfed the Warrior to ground Level (execution,4-hit-assitance) were rly nice.

Same way goes for Posion and the Arrow Hail all my favorite Op skills are gone now you have to stack crit but after that the Rogues are even more op :Y

  18. Number_13

Can u put up the moves list for every character, also telling wat the moves do max damage mana cost etc.

  19. dave

I hacked the game got tier 999 gear or something and let it idle for a night to farm spark of legends wave 350 + :_D

  20. Armand

just how much of those waves are there? I’m on the 34th now… is there an end? 😀

  21. dave

use some low chars with spirit guided items 😀

  22. Wanderer

Great Guide, I was wondering if you knew how to get Guerilla Achievement, I have them all but this, and It is impossible for me to get, I dont know why, my team just doesn’t survive long enough (Wave 6). Thanks bye

  23. dave

You can trick the Dynamic Difficultiy to get easy through the game.

The Enemy Level of a Floor is determined by the average Level of your Party.

If you have a Level 22 Rogue and a Level 2 Warrior the Enemys will spawn
with (22+2) /2 = Level 12 and are one Hits for your Rogue even on Hardcore difficulty.

You can use the Exp penalty to keep the Level low as long as you are going for an achievment.

This trick is expecially good in the Act IV where your Character wont gain Levels until the fight is over.

    ———————————————————-
You can buff your Party with Potions pre starting Act IV they will stay Active until your Character die.
12 Quickness 30% defense and 5% health regeneration.

The refresh costs for the Store is determined by the weapon Tier
and the Tier by your average Party Level.

If your Party Level is small enough or just under 10 you can just refresh for 200 Gold and buy Epic Items for 700-1000 Gold if you did upgrade the category enough.

That way you can buy the powerfull +% Items because their usefullness wont increase much with gear.

10% less Powercosts will stay 10% even with Tier 333 the same goes
    for defense and speed.
    ————————————————————-
With consumeables upgraded to the Max and a Tier of 3 ( estimated Level 20) you can buy Epic Gems in the Emporium.

    1.) Shard of Dilarea / (°-°)/ 25% crit dmg and 3% crit / (°-°)/
    2.) Shard of Sarilas /2 Quickness 25% Starting Action/
