Soul Binder Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Can heal self and allies like a Priest
  • Regular SP skill deals high damage.

Cons

  • Most active skills has cooldown. Need to rely more on regular SP skill.
  • Higher level active skills are mostly utility skill, doesn’t do much damage.
  • Have to charge orbs manually to deal more damage or increase healing effect.
  • Charging orb slows down your attack rhythm and increases skill cooldown.

Active Skills

Chain Spear (Level 4)
Recovers 8 SP and inflicts 35% (55%) damage for the 1st and 2nd consecutive attack. Recovers 12 SP and inflicts 160% (250%) damage for the 3rd consecutive attack. The 3rd consecutive attack inflicts damage up to 5 enemies within 2.25m radius of its explosion. SP Recovery occurs when the attacks hit at least 1 enemy.

Ray Storm (Level 4)
Consumes 20 SP. Attacks enemy within 7.5m range. Inflicts 47% (67%) damage 4 times to an enemy. The energy ball will then bounce to the next nearest 4 enemies but will not attack same enemy twice.

Mantra Open (Level 7)
Consumes 25 SP. Generates 1 Orb per cast and up to 4 Orbs. When you maintain at least 1 Orb, it will grants you 20 (25) Physical and Magic Resistance. You can consume these Orbs by activating other skills such as Shooting Star to deal more powerful effects! The more orbs you consume, the effects of the skill will become greater.

Expansion Ball (Level 13)
Consumes 30 SP. Generates an energy ball that moves 7.5m forward. Energy ball inflicts 328% (488%) damage up to 8 enemies within its path. The energy ball is able to deal explosion damage if consumed at least 2 Orbs. Explosion damage is dependent on the number of orbs being consumed. The enemies affected in explosion will received electric shocks that inflicts 20% damage per second for 3 seconds.

Split Barrier (Level 23)
Consumes 25 SP. Generates a protective shield on self. This shield will absorb all damage you received from enemies up to 20% (25%) of max HP. Use Orbs to increase the damage capacity your can receive. The shield vanishes when it reaches its capacity or completes its 4 seconds duration, whichever that comes first. This buff does not apply when equipped Wizard of Magic Rune armor or Bladder Frost Rune shield.

Cyclone Bomber (Level 33)
Create a cyclone 6m in front of you. Enemies within 3m radius of the cyclone will be pulled towards its position. Cyclone inflicting 22% (32%) damage up to 8 enemies. The cyclone disperses by exploding itself, inflicting 41% (61%) damage.

    @Valky: Use Chain Spear to replenish SP. You do not need to max this since it will be replaced with Explosive Energy Sphere at Level 30. The Energy Sphere inflicts much more damage compared to Chain Spear against mobs of enemies. The primary attacking skills for Soul Binder are Explosive Energy Sphere, Shooting Star, Flash Strike and Expansion Ball. If you are training/grinding at maps with some other players, use the Ray Storm to tag the monster (hit at least once to gain EXP) then perform the finishing kill if your allies did not defeat the enemy.

    If the enemies are tough ones, you can apply Cyclone Bomber to have all enemies in 1 spot, before performing Flash Strike. Vigor Discharge and Sohckwave is great against bosses. If its not a hassle, try to create at least 1 orb using Mantra Open. This will allows you to deal additional damage to enemies as well as heal yourself much more compare to not using any orbs. The orbs 2, 3, and 4 is does not reap much benefits.

    Hi Ayumi, Just wondering if you have any tips for Soul binders? Like should i be mostly using Chain spear as my auto or Explosive Energy sphere?
