MapleStory2 Heavy Gunner (메이플스토리2 헤비거너): Carrying their heavy artillery weapons called Cannons, they are outlaws of the battlefield and destroy everything with a casual look on their faces. Even with their natural strength, dexterity, and powerful weapon, they are hard to work with. Their unpredictable and eccentric natures mean never-ending problems with these brats. The Heavy Gunner is from the ‘Talisker’ area in Kerning City, where they work as hired mercenaries for scientists. Many of them used to be regular, hot-blooded people in Maple World. These scientists provided them superior weapons so they could become stronger but due to their free-spirited nature, the group mentality was weak. Now, many Heavy Gunners are running rampant all over the world, showing off their power.

Heavy Gunner Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Has the longest attacking range for basic SP Replenshing Skill.
  • Most SP Skills are based on AoE (Deals Area of Effect Damage).
  • Great mobility. Rocket Launcher allows you to quickly move to a specific location.
  • Has skills to perform high total damage in Boss Raids when utilizing skill rotations correctly.
  • Female Heavy Gunner sexy voice-over is simply awesome.
  • Fastest mob clearing skills/stats
  • Not too flashy but fun to play and look at.

Cons

  • Grenade skill has very short attacking range, unsuitable for bossing/training activities.
  • Heavy Gunner are squishy (low HP) similarly to other non-Warrior class.
  • Damage range is lower compared to Ranger, Assassin, Thief, Berserker, Knight and Wizard.
  • Many SP Skills has cooldown timer and has long skill animation before damage affects enemies.
  • Lock On skill commonly used on Bosses does not have high impact.

If the enemy is Locked On, the beam will continue to fire at its location every second for 5 seconds.

Every time you attack with your Cannon, it will preheat for 3 seconds. After preheating 10 times, your Over Limit stage will increase. Each time your Over Limit stage increases, your damage will be increased by 0.9% (damage boost will stack) for 25 seconds (which will reset if you increase stages again). When you reach 10 Over Limit stacks, your SP will drop to 0 but for 5 seconds, all skills will require 0 SP.

    @Lei Zheng: Yes, MapleStory2 has revamped all job skills, some has new added skills, some removed and some modified. Will be updating the article soon :-)

    Did they change some of the skills because I don’t see blast jump anywhere on the skill tree and the levels to unlock the skills are different too
