Madhouse

October 7 – November 3
Requirement: Lv. 33 and above

  • Begin by accepting the quest ‘Chloe’s Letter’ from the event quest notifier on the left-side of the game window.
  • You will obtain a visitor’s pass to the Madhouse to have a little taste of what’s to come.
  • Accept the quest ‘Sender Unknown’ once a day to receive 3 extra visitor’s passes.
    • You cannot receive the ‘Sender Unknown’ quest while in a Madhouse map. Visit a town or a field to receive your quest.
  • Once entering the Madhouse, help your friends Eddie, Marilyn, Chu, Lopez, and Sean to find pieces of Chloe’s Diary and solve the Madhouse mystery.
  • Interact with objects around the hospital to find items that your friends may have dropped.
  • Always keep a flashlight and battery close at hand, as you never know what’s lurking in the dark shadows.
  • Explore corridors to find the exit and escape from the Madhouse.
  • Read secret messages, memos, and medical records left by patients and hospital staff for hints and clues.
  • Collect Madhouse Coins to purchase lucrative totems and chairs from the Vending Machine.
  • Complete Madhouse’s mysterious quests to obtain different rewards.

Halloween Star Planet

October 7 – November 4
Requirement: Lv. 33 and above
During the month of October, Star Planet will periodically change in appearance to fit the Halloween atmosphere. This will occur on the 35 minute mark and last for 20 minutes every hour from 12 PM – 10 PM Pacific (3 PM – 1 AM Eastern) throughout the duration of the event. You can earn free Halloween costumes and customizations by participating in mini-games, as well as take part in fun-filled Halloween dance parties everyday.

  • Temporary Halloween Costumes
    • Obtain 10 or more Star Points from mini-games to receive a Worn Halloween Costume Box. Open it to choose one of the following:

Halloween Party Event

  • Requirement: Minimum of 10 players needed
    • The Halloween Party will occur from 12 PM – 10 PM Pacific (3 PM – 1 AM Eastern) everyday starting at the 40 minute mark.
    • Follow Bobble’s dance moves when he appears in the square and receive rewards as you advance in the rounds.
  • Rewards:
    • Receive +1 Star Point each time you advance a round.
    • Select and obtain 1 unlearned Halloween Action Skill when succeeding 18 out of 20 rounds.
    • Receive the permanent Spookybones Damage Skin for participating in the Halloween party even more than 10 times.

Witch Malady’s Secret Mission

October 7 – November 3
Requirement: Level 33 and above

  • Bring Witch Malady the necessary ingredients she needs to receive various rewards.
  • Accept the quest ‘[Halloween] Witch Malady’s Secret Mission’ through the ‘star’ event notifier on the left-side of the game window, or you can accept the quest directly from Witch Malady in the Event Hall.
  • Witch Malady will send you on a wild ingredient chase for her pungent food recipes. You can gather the necessary ingredients from various monsters around Maple World.
  • You can also hunt monsters to obtain Dark Tokens, which can be exchanged for items from Witch Malady.
  • During the event period, Frog and Black Cat monsters will appear every 10 minutes in most major towns. Defeat these monsters to receive Dark Tokens and ingredients for Witch Malady’s recipes.

Recipe Rewards:

  • Seasoned Frog Eggs and Mushrooms: A stinky dish made with Cursed Frog Eggs. Restores 400 HP if eaten.
  • Bloody Mushroom Wine: A non-alcoholic wine made with Cursed Cat Spittle. Restores 200 MP when consumed.
  • Slimy Canape: A creepy and slimy canape. Increases Weapon ATT and Weapon DEF +15 for 15 minutes.
  • Zingy Kebab: A suspiciously sharp-tasting Kebab. Increases Magic ATT and Magic DEF +15 for 15 minutes.
  • Swamp Wrap: The Witch’s wrap dish that fills your mouth with the aroma of the swamp with each bite. Increases Weapon ATT and Weapon DEF +25 for 15 minutes.
  • Rough Leather Steak: A rough leather steak that the Witch has carefully grilled for you. Increases Magic ATT and Magic DEF +25 for 15 minutes.
  • Witch’s Special Stew: The Witch’s special stew that gives off a sour stink. Increases Weapon ATT/Magic ATT +40, Weapon DEF/Magic DEF +100, Speed +15, and Jump +15 for 15 minutes.

Olivia and the Haunted Mansion

October 7 – November 3
Requirement: Lv. 33 and above

  • Return Olivia to her family by battling maniacal monsters inside her haunted house and unraveling some of the mysteries of the Prendergast family and their mansion.
  • Accept the quest ‘[Halloween] Olivia: “Help Me”‘ through the star notifier on the left-side of the game window, or you can accept the quest directly from Olivia at the Haunted House.
  • You can reach the mansion by using the NLC Taxi in New Leaf City. You can get to New Leaf City using the Kerning City subway or through a Dimensional Mirror in a town.
  • You will receive one of three quest lines based on your level range: Lv. 33 – 40, Lv. 41 – 60, Lv. 61 – 250.
  • Complete the quests including the final quest ‘[Halloween] Butler: “The Trap”‘ to receive your reward.

Rewards:

  • Olivia’s Chair: Recovers 40 HP and 35 MP every 10 seconds. Tradeable.

You can also form a party of 3 – 6 players and take on Chaos Olivia!

  • Requirement: Lv. 160 and above. You can enter 3 times every day in a party of 3 – 6 players.
  • Accept the quest ‘[Halloween] Butler: “The Trap”‘ from NPC Steward.
  • Talk to Steward again and choose the option ‘Talk to the Butler about Olivia’ and he will send you to Haunted House: Mansion’s Hidden Hall 1, Haunted House: Mansion’s Hidden Hall 2, Haunted House: Mansion’s Hidden Hall 3, or Haunted House: Mansion’s Hidden Hall – Chaos, depending on your level.
  • Talk to Steward again and choose the option ‘Talk to the Butler about Olivia’ then choose ‘Where is Olivia’s Secret Room’ and he will send you to Olivia’s Secret Room – Chaos.
  • Click on the mirror and type in “Olivia” and she will appear.

The Kid Gamsper

October 14 – October 31
Requirement: Level 33 and above

  • Login daily and collect paint drops to decorate Gamsper to receive special prizes.
  • Click on the icon of Gamsper through the ‘star’ event notifier on the left-side of the game window to accept the quest, or visit Gamsper in the Event Hall.
  • Decorate the ghost kid Gamsper by collecting ghost paint. Up to 9,999 drops of ghost paint can be stored. Ghost paint can be acquired by the following means:
    • 10 drops of ghost paint will be acquired for every 10 seconds you are connected to the game.
    • 20 drops of ghost paint can be acquired from the Ghost Paint Tube dropped from monsters in the field.
    • Other players can be right-clicked and challenged to a Rock-Paper-Scissors game. Winners will acquire 100 drops of ghost paint, and a tie or loss will earn 10 drops of ghost paint.
    • Defeat the Bully Jack that appears in town to acquire Mysterious Ghost Paint Tube. This item can be used to acquire 5 drops of ghost paint every second from standing in the paint cloud that appears. Bully Jack only appears in Henesys, Leafre, El Nath, Edelstein, and Mu Lung from 8 AM – 10 PM Pacific (11 AM – 1 AM Eastern).
  • Decorating Gamsper can be done through the event menu by clicking Gamsper’s icon through the ‘star’ event notifier on the left-side of the game window.
    • You can randomly change Gamsper’s head, face, and body individually for 4,000 drops of ghost paint each.
    • You can also randomly change all of Gamsper for 2,000 drops of ghost paint.
  • The ‘Challenge’ button in the event menu can be used to accept a random daily quest. Daily quest types include:
    • Collect 9,999 drops of ghost paint.
    • Participate in 3 games of Rock-Paper-Scissors.
    • Collect 30 Ghost Paint Tubes.
    • Use Mysterious Ghost Paint Tube 3 times.
  • You can permanently keep the appearance of your Gamsper once the event period is over.

Dark Destroyer

  • Pick up Doom’s Mantle to begin the quest ‘Dark Destroyer’.
  • Hunt 300 monsters around your level range.
  • Reward:

Dark Ringmaster

  • Pick up Grin’s Ordinary Ring to begin the quest ‘Dark Ringmaster’.
  • Hold onto Grin’s Sad Ring for 30 minutes to transform it into Grin’s Awesome Ring.

Zombie Survival

October 14 – November 10
Requirement: Lv. 33 and above

  • Accept the quest ‘The Outbreak’ from the quest event notification on the left-side of the game window.
  • You have 30 minutes to find yourself a vaccination. If no vaccination can be found, you will turn into a zombie!
  • Turning into a zombie comes with power. However, after 10 minutes, your powers will disappear and you will turn into a Host.
  • Host zombies can spread the virus to other Maplers. Beware, they don’t look like normal zombies – they look like your average Mapler.
  • Be careful who you hang around with, or you might get infected by the virus!

The Final Day

  • Complete one of the three objectives below to obtain the final reward.
  • Progress can be checked by opening the event quest ‘The Final Day’.

Pass 30 Consecutive Examinations

  • Click on the icon that appears above your head every 30 minutes from 8 AM to midnight Pacific (11 AM to 3 AM Eastern) for your virus examination.
  • Reward:
    • Neville, the Legend (M) Android

Turn Into a Zombie 30 Times

KANNA AND HAYATO UPDATE

Kanna and Hayato Creation Opens

October 7

  • Starting October 7, Kanna and Hayato will once more be available for character creation.
  • Both characters have had numerous adjustments to make them more powerful and enjoyable to play.

Kanna

  • Male Kanna characters will have new face and hair options when created.
  • The default female Kanna hair has been updated.
  • Female Kanna characters that have their original hair can speak with Maple Administrator in the Event Hall to change to the updated hair.
  • Male Kanna characters that have their original hair or face can speak with Maple Administrator in the Event Hall to change to the updated hair or face.
  • Mana recovery has been adjusted from recovering 50 Mana every 4 seconds to recovering 4 Mana every second.
  • Haku’s human form appearance has been updated.

1st Job

  • Ether Pulse: Skill delay reduced.

2nd Job

  • Burning Shikigami Haunting: Changed to a passive skill. Additional effect activation changed from 3rd hit to 1st hit. Master level changed from 15 to 20.

3rd Job

  • Tengu Strike: Mana cost reduced from 20 to 15.
  • Frozen Shikigami Haunting: Changed to a passive skill. Additional effect activation changed from 3rd hit to 2nd hit. Total Shikigami Haunting damage increase reduced from +105% to +100%. Master level changed from 15 to 20.
  • NEW SKILL: Mana Balance: At Master Level: Converts 30% of current HP to 30 Mana. Master Level: 5

4th Job

  • Mighty Shikigami Haunting: Renamed to Shocking Shikigami Haunting. Knock back damage increased from +150% to +165%. Total Shikigami Haunting damage increase increased from +210% to +240%. Master level changed from 15 to 20.
  • Vanquisher’s Charm: Movement and jump functions added.
  • Orochi: Cooldown reduced from 30 sec to 20 sec. Master level changed from 30 to 20.
  • Monkey Spirits: Mastery level changed from 30 to 20.

Equipment Effect System

  • A new feature has been added to the Equipment Inventory menu that will allow you to hide visual effects for certain items.
  • You can use this feature by opening your Equipment Inventory and selecting the “Effect” button in the bottom left of the window.
    • Once this feature is toggled, all equipment displaying visual effects will have a green highlight around their icon in the window.
    • You can right-click each item you want to turn off visual effects for, and their highlight will turn red in the Equipment Inventory window.
    • You can then exit the window and your changes will be saved.
  • Please be aware that some effects cannot be turned off using the feature.
    • Some item effects that cannot be turned off include: Lightning God Ring, Sylph Rings, White Heaven Rings, and several others.

Character Name Change Event

  • All characters under Lv. 200 on accounts that have not been logged in since January 1, 2013 will have their names changed to a combination of numerals in the October 15 maintenance.
  • If you don’t want your characters’ names changed to numerals, you should login to your account before October 15.
  • Character names of permanently banned accounts will not be changed.

Free Name Change Event

  • October 15 (after maintenance) – October 21
  • Requirement: Lv. 10 and above
    • Accept the quest “A Chance to Change Your Name!” from the event quest notifier on the left-side of the game window to receive a free name change coupon.
    • Open your item inventory and double-click on the Character Name Change Coupon to begin the process.
    • After using the coupon, move to the Character Selection Screen to choose which character the coupon should be applied to.
    • The Character Name Change Coupons are limited to one character per world per account.
    • Players who have previously had a name change will not be allowed to have another name change.
    • The character names will be changed in the October 22 maintenance.

Character Name Change Sale

  • Requirement: Lv. 10 and above
    • If you want to change the names of additional characters, you will have more opportunities with a 1-week sale of Character Name Change Coupons.
    • Enter the Cash Shop to purchase a Character Name Change Coupon for 10,000 NX Prepaid.
    • Once you enter the new character name and complete the process, the coupon will stay in your inventory until the change is applied in a maintenance.
