Advance Faster
Maximize your skills and strength with bonus experience and earlier job
advancements. 3rd job advancements have been lowered from Iv. 70 to Iv. 60
and 4th job advancements have been lowered from lv. I20 to Iv I00. Master skill
levels have been tweaked accordingly (This does not apply to Cygnus Knight or
Evan classes). EXP requirements have also been adjusted, and bonus EXP will be
doled out once you reach key levels.

Increase Your Arsenal
Equipment no longer has substat requirements, so you have more options than
ever when it comes to outfitting your character. Forget about substats and start
equipping!

Visit the Tempest Coin Shop
The Tempest Coin Shop is up and running and ready to give you rare items in
exchange for your Tempest Coins! You’ll get Tempest Coins when you complete
Tempest events.

Gain Honor Experience Faster
You can now gain Honor Experience in Azwan whenever you want! The Honor EXP
needed to raise honor level has been decreased, and you now have a higher
chance of upgrading your Inner Abilities to B, A, and S rank when you use
Circulators!

Create more Characters
The maximum number of character slots has increased from 15 to 18 per world so you can try every class without deleting your favorite characters!

Free market map Changes
The Free Market map has been given a makeover! Not only is it larger, but you can
see popular Maple fashions on the big screen – or even show off your own style.

Job Advancement Levels

  • Excluding Evan and Cygnus Knights, all classes’ 3rd and 4th Job advancement levels will be reduced.
  • 3rd Job advancement will be reduced from Lv. 70 to Lv. 60.
  • 4th Job advancement will be reduced from Lv. 120 to Lv. 100.
  • Job advancement quest levels and quest monsters have been adjusted accordingly.
  • Level restrictions on medals, mounts, sub-equipment and job advancement equipment have been adjusted to accommodate the changes.
  • The required EXP to level up from lv. 60-75 and 100-125 have been adjusted.
  • Explorer classes, Aran, Cannoneer and Dual Blade that use combined SP system will receive 4 additional SP at job advancement.
  • Jett, Resistance classes, Hero classes, and Mihile that use separated SP system will now receive 5 SP for 1st, 4 SP for 2nd, 4 SP for 3rd, and 4 SP at 4th job advancements.
  • Those that had the job advancement levels adjusted will have all their SP reset, also including the adjusted additional SP.
  • Explorer-specific changes:
    • You can teleport to Manon’s Forest and Griffey Forest, the 4th Explorer Job Advancement quest maps, by talking to the Forest of the Priest Job Instructors.
    • Levels for Power of the Fairy quests changed from Lv.70, Lv,80, Lv.90, Lv.100, and Lv.110 to Lv.70, Lv.75, Lv.80, Lv.85, and Lv.90 respectively.
    • Lv 80 skill quest which required Panda & Reinforced Mithril Mutae now requires Grizzly & Reinforced Iron Mutae.
    • Lv 85 skill quest which required Bone Fish & Master Soul Teddy now requires Panda & Sand Dwarf.
    • Lv. 90 skill quest which required Gold Slime & Hankie now requires Buffy & Peach Monkey.
  • The Mihile quest “Empress’s Grace” has been modified to require Rash & Dark Rash to drop the peridots needed by Empress Cgynus.
  • Bonus EXP will be given for reaching certain levels.
    • Lv. 80 & 90: 15% of EXP needed until the following level
    • Lv. 81 & 91: 15% of EXP needed until the following level
    • Lv. 82 & 92: 10% of EXP needed until the following level
    • Lv. 83 & 93: 10% of EXP needed until the following level
    • Lv. 84 & 94: 5% of EXP needed until the following level
    • Lv. 85 & 95: 5% of EXP needed until the following level

Azwan Revamp

  • There is no longer a time restriction on when you can obtain Honor EXP in Azwan.
  • The experience you obtain from killing monsters in Azwan has been changed.
  • When using a Circulator, you now have a higher chance of getting B, A and S ranks.
  • Circulators have been merged to Rank 8, Rank 5 and Special Circulator. While existing Circulators will retain their old names, they will function like the following:
    • The existing Rank 10 and Rank 9 Circulators will function as Rank 8 Circulator.
    • The existing Rank 7 and Rank 6 Circulators will function as Rank 5 Circulator.
    • The existing Rank 4, Rank 3 and Rank 2 Circulators will function as the Special Circulator.
  • When Circulators appear in Jean Pierre’s shop, you can buy up to 30x Rank 5 Circulators and 10 Special Circulators.
  • Honor EXP needed to raise Honor Level has been decreased significantly.

Miscellaneous

  • The Free Market entrance map has been given a makeover! Now you can check out how your character would look in the latest fashions, right on the big screen TV!
  • The maximum character slots per world has been increased from 15 to 18.
  • Some bosses now have a visual indicator (aka an “aggro” meter) as to which player has their full attention.
  • Substat class restrictions have been removed on most equipment.
  • Some of the Potential stats of Lv. 60 and Lv. 100 weapons and sub-equipment has been adjusted.

New Events

Revamp Event

November 29 to December 19, 2012

During the hours of 8 AM to 12 PM Pacific, and 8 PM to 12 AM Pacific each day:

  • Requires Lv. 40 or above.
  • You can receive extra Conqueror’s and Emperor’s Coins for completing Azwan modes. Number of coins received depends on the quickness the mode was completed in.
  • 30% extra hunting EXP and 20% extra Honor Exp in the Fight for Azwan modes.

Cold That Came with the Tempest

November 29, 2012 – January 29, 2012
Requirement: Lv.13 or above

A twisted game of tag where the sole objective is you see if you can pass on your sickness to other Maplers! See if you can avoid the sniffles during the whole event. You can catch the contagion from Cassandra, and the Maple Administrator is your makeshift doctor helping to cure you.

The Cold to End All Colds

  • Talk to the Maple Admin directly or through the Event Notifier.
  • If you get a cold, talk to the Maple Admin and ask her for a diagnosis.
  • She can temporary suppress your symptoms.

Contagious Tempest

  • Talk to Cassandra, the only NPC who managed to get sick.
  • You should really be careful, you don’t want to get sick either.
  • Seriously, she does look really sick… maybe you should stop talking to her.
