BTD5 Bloons Tower Defense 5 – Daily Challenge (September 21 2012) – Tricky Bloons Guide. Aim your Mortar Towers well on this challenge. They’re the only way to hit camo or lead bloons. Slalom hard rounds 28-65. Start with 6,000 cash. 8 Towers max. Towers Disabled are Spike Factory, Monkey Apprentice, Bomb Tower, Tack, Ninja Monkey, Dartling Gun, Pineapple and Road Spikes.

#Late Game (Round 49 – 65)
2 Super Monkey (1/2) – Destroy Blimps.
2 Mortar Tower (2/3) – Removes Camo ability from Bloon.
2 Mortar Tower (4/2) – Clears Bloons to allow Super Monkey to focus on Blimps.
1 Monkey Buccaneer (4/1) – Eliminate any weak escaping Bloons.
1 Monkey Village (3/0) – Reduce tower upgrade cost + Speed up attack rate and range.

BTD Strategy Guide / Tips and Tricks:

Start with 2 Tack Shooter (3/0), 1 Banana Farm (2/0), 1 Monkey Buccaneer and 1 Mortar Tower. Build these two Tack Shooters near the entrance. Build Mortar Tower on the 5th corner and lock its target in between the Tack Shooter on the Bloon path. This attack position is the most optimized way to remove most Camo ability from Bloons in 1 single shot from Mortar explosion. Monkey Buccaneer will provide backup support to defeat escaping bloons.

Next, construct a Banana Farm to generate sufficient cash to fund for 2 Monkey Ace and Monkey Village. Don’t upgrade any of these defensive towers until you build a Monkey Village first as this will reduce nearby tower upgrade cost. 2 Monkey Ace will be sufficient to take out most weak Bloons faster than Tack Shooter. Sell those Tack Shooters to fund those Monkey Ace upgrades.

Before reaching Round 46 where the Big Blue Blimp appears, you will need to have 2 Monkey Ace (3/0) upgrades + Monkey Buccaneer (3/0) + 1 Dart Monkey (1/3) + 1 Boomerang Thrower (3/1). The Boomerang Thrower and Dart Monkey is plays a vital role to destroy any Bloons to spawn out from this Blue Blimp. Without them, you will have a high risk of losing some life/health.

Once you past Round 46 successfully, sell the Dart Monkey and buy another Mortar Tower (2/3). Lock its attack target just below the first Mortar target position. This will reduce the risk of pink camo bloons from escaping the first mortar explosion. Start upgrading Banana Farm (3/0). Next sell off Boomerang Thrower to build a Super Monkey (2/2) once you have sufficient cash. Super Monkey destroys Blimps faster than Monkey Ace. Sell all Monkey Ace to upgrade Monkey Buccaneer (4/2). Your battleship is capable of destroying most weak bloons easily without any range limitation. Build another Super Monkey to destroy Blimps faster.

When Blimps explodes, it spawns massive mini Bloons which takes a considerably a long time for our Super Monkey to destroy them. Therefore, build 2 Mortar Tower (4/2) and lock its target nearby Super Monkey position at center of 3rd corner path. It’s massive explosion can knock out most bloons very fast. Upon reaching Round 62, you can sell off your Banana Farm in exchange for another powerful Mortar Tower (4/2).

I did some experiments that Mortar Explosion without the Camo Removal does not affect Camo Bloons. This same applies with Homing Darts, Glue Splash or Laser Beam or any projectiles. In short, you need to remove the bloon camo ability with Mortar + Camo Removal or just use Radar Scanner from Monkey Village but in this challenge, there isn’t one provided.
